Liv & Mimi’s Play Cafe — Attraction in Albuquerque

Edit: we had our birthday party yesterday & because of the owner at liv & Mimi’s it went so much smoother! I ended up being almost 15 minutes late to the set up time she gives & with her help setting up we got it done in the 15 minutes that was left. She was so sweet to all of my guests most of which had never been there before. We added a cute balloon garland to the birthday package & it came out perfect for the theme we did! She also had a stand for the yogurt & applesauce, along with a napkin/plasticware holder for us to use which came in handy. Thank you for helping the day go so smoothly, we appreciate you so much!

We’ve been going to Liv & Mimi’s since shortly after they opened in 2023, they just celebrated their birthday week so it’s been about a year now. My kids were 10mo when we started going, they’re 22mo now & have loved every single time we’ve gone. It’s our favorite contained place to go when I want to actually catch up with a friend & not chase kids around a whole park the entire time. It’s also a great place to meet other mom friends, I’ve met a couple nice moms from there. The owner also does fun events for adults & kids regularly. I had my son's 1st birthday party here back in March 2025. Super cute place! The owner isn't very friendly, she wants you to decorate the way she wants you to. My friends and family that were helping me set up in the 30 minutes we had, felt uncomfortable how they were being treated. She told me to bring table cloths and balloons the day before to eliminate set up time. But I still needed extra tables so that wasn't going to help me, and it takes 2 minutes to set up table cloths. I asked if I could drop off decorations and if she had extra space so we could leave some stuff there, she said she didn't. From the moment we got there she wasn't very pleasant. However, after I opted out of the balloon decoration, she did surprise me with a gesture of goodwill and made one for me anyways which was nice of her and very much appreciated. But this was such a horrible experience and I will never book another party here again. Owner is aware of my opinions as she called to discuss a review that a guest at my party left on her website. Held my daughter’s 3rd birthday here, it was a terrible experience from the beginning. I booked via online and did not receive any type of confirmation until I called multiple times 3 days before and finally spoke to someone. That should have been my first clue. The day of the party, I had caterer, balloonist and bouncer delivered only to be left outside until literally 5 mins before the party start time because they had crammed 3 birthday parties into one Saturday and my daughters was the middle party. With only a 3hr block of time given total, in the middle of opening gifts (with 1hour left of our 3hour timeframe) the owner went and began deconstructing decorations, packing up food & cake which my daughter had not even blown out her candles yet) of which my daughter ended up doing that at home with her dad n I because they opened the alley doors and began setting our items out the door. Absolutely never again have I stepped foot in or near that place. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars was because they were extremely clean and were wheelchair accessible for my grandmother…otherwise...
