Princess Spa and Nails — Local services in Albuquerque

I got my nails done yesterday 6- 4- 25. This review is written TODAY, JUNE 5TH. Let me start by saying I have come here at least 3 to 4 times for acrylic nail sets, which I have loved, and the last time a pedicure. I booked a week in advance for a 2pm royal pedicure for me and my mom. Got there ON TIME. We got sat in the back on the pedicure chairs and waited over 45 MINUTES to be seen. Why even HAVE appointment times if walk ins are a higher importance? Anyways, two ladies come over and start doing our pedicures. Pedicures are great. The sugar scrub, the lavender bath salt, great time. Until my tech, ANN, starts doing my nails. The first picture is what I asked for - the left foot with the flowers on the big toe. The FIRST time she put them on my nails, it looked how the second picture does. Told her I absolutely did not like it ans that I wanted what the picture had. Very simple!! Nothing too complicated. She filed it off, and did it even WORSE the second time. Those flowers are tiny. She was using the larger end of the dotting tool then tried to tell me she couldn't do it how the picture was because the flowers were too close. Well of course they're going to be when you're using the larger end of the dotting tool. Use the smaller side???? At this point it is 4 o'clock in the afternoon and I'm incredibly irritated that I've sat in this chair for TWO HOURS and I can't even get a SIMPLE flower design. And my pedicure isn't even done yet! She still has the red wax bag and my "12" minute massage. She wipes off the second attempt of the flowers and I tell her just put teo big ones cause I'm ready to leave. Let me preface the checkout before I even get to that. The last picture is what my mom got. ZERO CHROME. So I go to checkout, and I'm thinking the total is going to be 120 at the MOST after tax, because the pedicures were 51 dollars for the two of us. The receptionist tells me my total is 155 and some change. I said excuse me?? We got two pedicures???? She turns the ipad around and show me the breakdown of the price. Apparently they charge 12 dollars for gel soak off, which every other salon just files off the previous gel, 12 dollars for chrome which my mom DIDNT get, and another 5 dollars for my cheap a$$ flowers that I DIDNT even LIKE or gets what I asked for!! I told her I'm not paying for chrome because my mom didn't get it, I've NEVER BEEM TO ANOTHER SALON THAT CHARGES EXTRA FOR A SOAK OFF THAT CAN BE FILED OFF. Another tech comes over and ARGUES with me that since "I wasnt informed that chrome was extra they're gonna take it off" and I told her for the FOURTH time, my mom DID NOT GET CHROME. I KNOW what chrome is. SHE DIDNT GET IT. so that took my total down to 140 and some change. At this point I've had ENOUGH of this salon tacking on as many charges as they can so I pay and leave. Got there at 200, left at 430!!! To add insult to injury, I travel and HOUR to get my nails done, and when I got home thetop layer of my right foot PEELED off because the tech didnt cure the second layer of the black gel right!! Thats what the third picture is. DONT MAKE APPOINTMENTS IF YOURE NOT GOING TO HONOR THEM. AND MAKE SURE YOUR TECHS ARE INFORMING PEOPLE EVERY LITTLE CHARGE YOURE GOING TO TACK ON CAUSE I WASNT TOLD ABOUT ANY EXTRA CHARGES!!!! I thought I found a really good, reputable, professional place to go and to keep going to but after this cockamey MESS I'll take my money AND my business elsewhere. To sum up my experience, I waited OVER 45 Minutes to be seen, DIDNT GET the design I wanted, was CHARGED for services me or my mom DIDNT get, AND the pedicure didn't last TWO HOURS BEFORE PEELING OFF because the tech didn't have patience. I absolutely Will NOT come back and I WILL NOT recommend this place to ANYONE!!!! EDIT:: I'm editing this post at 1244 am. My LEFT TOE POLISH HAS COME OFF BECAUSE THE SECOND COAT WASNT CURED RIGHT. Seriously?!?!?!? BOTH my big toes polish has come off now because ANN didn't cure my second layer of black polish right!!! This is...

JULY 5 2025 My step-daughter wanted a specific design but was worried they wouldn't be able to do it as other salons had messed up in the past. I scheduled her appointment with Betty (whom I've been going to for years because she is a nail extraordinaire), and Betty did not disappoint! My s-daughter absolutely loves her nails and was shocked at how similar they are to the picture. Thank you Betty ❤️ Tina did my nails and though she is limited on the design aspect, she still did a beautiful job with a simple flower design! We also got pedicures (daughter picked out hot pink for her dad and brother) and and as always, NHI is my go-to for pedicures as she gives the best massages and always makes my feet feel brand new!! Thank you, Princess Spa, for making today's girls/family day memorable and relaxing!

UPDATE AS OF NOVEMBER 2024 I usually see Betty but she was out of town and was scheduled with Hailey. She was extremely friendly, professional and did an amazing job with my rebase and cat eye gel! AS OF AUGUST 2023 I am extremely disappointed in management and services at Princess Spa and Nails. I have been going for years and have always received exceptional and consistent services so of course I always refer friends and family to them to include most recently my sister in law aka Bride and bridal party. She booked online for specific (trusted) individuals that have provided exceptional/artistic services for myself over the years but when she and the bridal party arrived, they were placed with other staff. Bridal party showed pictures of designs wanted but wasnt told by staff that they could not complete requested design until after staff had already started their nails. Techs completing pedicures were rushed which was felt and seen by bride who's nail polish was disasterous. We all want to leave a salon feeling our best and even more so when you are a bride getting ready for your big day, unfortunately this bride and her party left feeling the complete opposite and ended up having to go to another salon to fix this salons lack of care and precision. There are not many salons that provide professional, exceptional and most importantly consistent services and it saddens me that this salon is no longer meeting this mark. I hope management will take note of this and work with staff to improve quality of work and consistency. Since being referred to Princess Spa and Nails, I will not go anywhere else. Kim is my nail tech and she always does an exceptional job! She is friendly, creative and extremely talented. My nails are always even, not to thick and the designs are amazing. I've had a handful of techs do my pedicures and always walk away feeling on top of the world. Everyone is so friendly and professional. The salon is always extremely clean and you can tell they all take pride in their buisness! Highly recommend Princess...

This place is truly phenomenal. 1st time in tonight. I was blown away. I'm a simple gal just wanting a simple basic pedicure and I could not stop looking around. So many people working and enjoying a relaxing nail day! I went in the afternoon on a Thur and it was bustling. I called ahead of time and asked if I could walk in and they said yes, I waited 10 mins and then finally got seated then waited another 15 until a kind lady next to me working asked if I was waiting for someone I said I hope so lol and then she got someone quickly to help me. The receptionist young blonde girls were nice but also kinda in their own world you could tell. Seemed more like a meet up fun spot for them. Anyways I had a very nice Woman helping me after all the waiting and was content. I asked the lady to use the buffing thing on my heels because they were extra dry. This is where I panicked she started using the thing while plugged into the wall over the water bowl. I immediately took my other foot out, I was terrified of being electrocuted. So after that I was extremely not relaxed because that can be a very very serious hazard. ⚠️ she did do a lovely job and was very kind. My other complaint would be the chemical smell it was extremely strong and made me sick to my stomach but I'm also very sensitive to scents in general, no one seemed bothered but I left with a tight chest and headache. I'd give this place a 4.5 stars because this business is Beautiful and you can tell the owner actually takes pride in their shop and their employees seem very happy. Probably the prettiest nail salon I've ever been in. Even decorated for Christmas. I will only not be returning only because I have my own lady I see she was just off today and I was in desperate need. Also because the smell was too much for me to breathe. But I would 100% recommend this place to all and I hope they continue to be successful for...
