This review is specifically for the toddler playground. I have been to another playground designed by the same manufacturer as this one and it’s one of our favorites. I was excited to go to this park for a change of scenery but was severely disappointed immediately upon arrival. The equipment it is so high off the ground that is impossible for small children to get on by themselves. There are sharp corners, bolts and plates exposed at the bottom of the equipment because so much of the wood chips are missing. The huge drops make it an extremely unsafe playground for toddlers. Obviously kids should be supervised at all times but at this age they should have a little independence to climb things on their own; you should not have to lift them onto every piece of equipment and stand there with arms open the whole time to ensure they don’t fall from a large drop. There is one ramp and the rest of the playground is surrounded by a cement path which is a huge step for a toddler to try to take on their own. In theory this is a great park. The equipment is nice and it’s enclosed (although the gate latch is broken off and rusted) but they need to add about 8+ inches of wood chips to make it reasonable for the 2-5 age group. I spoke to another mom who was there with her child who said that she has been going to this park for about a year and it has been this way the entire time. I saw some photos on yelp from 12 years ago and at that point the wood chips were level with the cement (no drop into the playground at all). I have a hard time believing I am the only one who has raised this concern, yet it appears that nothing has been done about it.

The park is nice and you can walk all the way to Laguna Beach if you have the time and stamina. Just have to be careful with bikers along the way.

Convenient and clean park for the whole family! It is a great local park with many amenities. The park has 2 large playgrounds, both have wood chips and are nicely shaded. One playground is fenced in and has a perfect set-up for the little kiddos. The other playground is for the big kids, it’s larger and has slides and swings. You can easily find picnic tables, drinking fountains and trash cans scattered throughout the park. There is a large flat grassy area for sports games and activities, as well as 3 baseball/softball fields and a basketball court. There is also a snack bar, though it’s not usually open. The park has plenty of parking but there’s also an elementary school next to it that can be used as an overflow parking lot when weekend games crowd the park. There is also street parking that can be utilized. Parking is free and handicap parking is available as well. You can also book the fields on chosen days for team sports all year around. This park, along with many other parks in the area, has convenient access to the Aliso Creek Trail. This trail connects walkers/bikers to many other parks in the area which makes it easier to explore the many beautiful parks offered in Aliso Viejo. I have used this trail many times and recommend it to anyone looking for a good old-fashioned experience with nature. Enjoy the local wildlife while getting a workout in. The park backs up to the toll road and other busy roads so be aware that you may hear constant traffic while visiting. With that said, it is still a quiet enough place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Overall, this is a great park for families, big groups and sports teams.

Wildlife: Be cautious when walking pets, coyotes have been known to wander onto the fields and walking path surrounding the park. The park backs up to Aliso Creek trail so wildlife interaction is common and to be expected. Bring protection if you plan on waking alone or at night, the coyotes in the area have been known to be unafraid of humans and pets. They will walk right up to you if...

The traffic in and out of this park is insane. People driving way too fast and racing for their kids at the next door school. Also, I've never seen so many posted rules. Essentially if it rolls, it's not allowed. No deink8ng fountains, closed restrooms when everyone would use them from 3pm to 6pm and 2 no dog signs for every gate to every playing field. This is a Karen's park....
