Bethany Lakes Park is one of the reasons why we decided to buy a house in Allen. This beautiful park features 3 large lakes teeming with ducks and fishes. A concrete running path takes you around the park and it's guaranteed to give you a scenic run, no matter what time of the day or season of the year.
The park has a recently renovated kids play area, several pavilions available for renting, a fishing deck, and a huge open space for events. It also houses the Joe Farmer Recreation Center right behind it, all with ample parking space.
A typical evening at the park will have several locals playing with their kids, fishing, walking their dogs or sitting on one of many picnic benches feeding the ducks.
Me and my hubby come here daily rain or shine, and we go around the park several times. But we always remember teasing the swans while we are at it - they give us that jolt of running energy - I have a feeling they now recognize us as the annoying couple that doesn't always bring tasty treats!!

Read moreBethany Lakes Park is such a beautiful, relaxing spot—definitely one of my favorite places to unwind. Right now, the bluebonnets are in full bloom, and they add the most gorgeous pop of color throughout the park. It’s perfect for taking photos, walking the trails, or just sitting and soaking in the scenery.
The park has several small lakes, and you’ll often see people fishing along the water’s edge. It’s quiet, peaceful, and feels like a nice little escape from the busier parts of town. The walking paths are clean and easy, and there’s always a mix of families, joggers, and folks just enjoying the space.
One of the best features, especially for families, is the playground. It’s got a good setup for kids to burn off energy while still being close enough to enjoy the lake views. There’s also lots of green space nearby for picnics or just relaxing under a tree.
Whether you’re there for the flowers, fishing, or just a breath of fresh air, Bethany Lakes Park has a little something for everyone. If you’re in the Allen area, it’s definitely worth spending...
Read moreMy mother-in-law likes to take our daughter to this park because not only is it a playground for her to play on but it is close to a lake with some ducks and turtles. So my wife and I took her there today and she had a blast.
Honestly this is not my favorite playground to take my daughter, as there is not as much stuff as other parks in town. I do like how they have two different parks right next to each other with age appropriate things to climb, but lets be honest those signs are all ignored and the kids always go to the tallest and highest thing to climb. The rock next to the park is fun to climb. There are several slides, swings, and other things to do and play on.
After the kiddos get tired everyone goes next to one of the three bodies of water to check out either the turtles or the ducks. The ducks are really cool to see and my daughter gets a kick of of them.
Overall the park is good, just not my fav one to take her, but it is nice to have other...
