Alpine Art Center — Attraction in Alpine

Had our wedding with Alpine recently. The venue is very beautiful indoors and outdoors with the garden. The decorations and the amount of them make for wonderful options and finalizing and setting up our own decorations was made super easy with the staff. There was projection and good audio setup and it also doubles as a little art museum, so very charming. Although the price has gone up, the venue was very affordable for everything you get. It’s also in the mountains so overall a beautiful venue to have your wedding. However, the catering was the thing that went wrong at our wedding. We had a taste test of the food months in advance and enjoyed what we expected to be our wedding food day of. Day of, the food was not ready on time, the majority of the pasta was undercooked, meatballs and chicken were limited per guest (1 meatball per guest is ridiculous.) the bread was different and there was no butter like from the taste test, the churro sauces were completely different from what we paid for, and they “supposedly” ran out (there was some left over still.) and served dessert we didn’t ask for “out of the kindness of their hearts.” I paid for churros, not other random dessert. I did appreciate their service with cutting and passing out the cake, and eventually picking up plates, only after my family picked up some plates and the servers had to be reminded. After explaining everything that went wrong to them, the refund was really bad for the amount spent. Bottom line, expectation on what you’ll really be getting for your catering seems to be skewed. I do recommend the beautiful venue/location, but choose your own catering, you’ll save a lot of money I hope. Alpine, please do better with your expectations and catering knowledge, and I truly truly hope something can be done about the way you handled this night for example...

I got married here in April. My main issues with the service we received was that when we called beforehand to ask questions like “will we be charged if we want to bring in our own food” we were told we wouldn’t be charged extra. Then we booked bc we felt confident we were getting everything we needed. We got to our final consultation and there were about six or seven extra fees that weren’t explained in our inquiry call, including paying them money to bring in our own food and have our own servers. At the end of the night they even told us we would have to take out our own trash or pay for trash removal, which also wasn’t mentioned in either the inquiry call nor the final consultation. It felt very shady to us. If we’d known about the things we were going to experience we would’ve booked somewhere more expensive but more honest. Overall, the venue is okay, but it’s not the most aesthetically pleasing place to have a wedding, and the service was bad. Biggest regret from my wedding by far.
