Our little LA foothill community has been eagerly awaiting the opening of this business, so you can imagine the disbelief we all experienced learning Fly High had chosen to open their doors for a "grand opening" today at the height of the pandemic, when LA County has been declared the epicenter of the pandemic for the state, the country and the world, and our hospitals and health care workers are on the brink. Even after seeing their website selling tickets, reading their social media posts boasting about "not" being open (like the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and our hospitals being crushed is all some joke?), hearing from neighbors who called and were told they were, in fact, ignoring the health order to open and even booking parties (?!), I still couldn't believe it, so I went over myself. Sure enough, this INDOOR playground was open for business today in flagrant violation of the current LA County public health order that clearly states indoor playgrounds cannot safely operate, and as a result, cannot be open. Worse, they fully acknowledged that they knew what they were doing but tried to justify it away saying they were "cleaning regularly like the parks in OC" (?!) and "making it safe." How could anyone rationalize an indoor play space as safe under any circumstances right now? Let's face it, these places are petri dishes at the best of times. There's no amount of cleaning in the world that could make it safe. You can't wipe away aerosolized droplets in a small indoor space. Anyone who'd open an indoor playground where multiple households are mixing, not to mention snacking (they're selling popcorn and ice slushes so that families can effectively dine indoors), and playing maskless – yes, maskless; we witnessed kids walking in and out with no masks on –doesn't care about anyone but themselves and taking your money at any cost. What happens when a kid gets hurt here and there's nowhere to take them because our hospitals are full and ambulances are waiting for hours to offload patients? There's no waiver in the world to save you from that kind of liability. As someone who's been out of business since March, and will be for the foreseeable future as this pandemic drags on endlessly because of unethical and unscrupulous businesses and people like this, I'm out of patience and excuses for the bad behavior. Shame on you, Fly High, for putting this community, its families, its children, and your neighboring businesses at risk. You've lost Beautiful Altadena's support, our business, and our respect.

When you go to the website, it says the following: "Try flips, tricks, and stunts with wall to wall trampolines, wipe-out, drop zones, basketball, foam pits, air bags, parkour, ninja warrior obstacles, super trampolines, Olympic trampolines, kids courts, nets course, arcade, nerf arena, and more!". It will also show the image attached. When you walk into the actual place, there are 5 trampolines, a "ninja course", and a play place for little kids taking up half of the space. We were extremely disappointed, so we asked for a refund since they advertised all of that stuff on their website which wasn't in the actual park. They refused, so we asked for a half refund instead but they unfortunately refused again. Honestly it's just a shame that they falsely advertise all this stuff, will not go again.

Wow this place really sucks. It’s small, seriously. It’s crammed, steamy, CROWDED. The cool pictures do not reflect what you get. They do not adhere to a maximum capacity limitation. Plus they only let you sit in the corona infection area not in their open space devoted to tables they are not using. They offer a free hour for a good review but I can’t do it. Plus their online waiver dealio is annoying. And they force you to buy their socks! Which you don’t need cause there’s so much sweat on the plastic you’d stick rather than slide. And there doesn’t seem to be an age requirement so teens take up large sections of the already small facility. Bottom line: don’t go.

This indoor recreation center had its grand opening at the peak of COVID, at a time during a stay at home order prohibiting such businesses to open to the public. They do not care about the local community as this an extremely high risk setting and hospital ICUs are beyond capacity. They are also risking bring people from neighboring communities and potentially spread the virus more in our town.

This is not a local small business the owners are out of state with multiple nationwide locations. They do not care about our little foothill community.

Shame on you, Fly High, for putting our children, families, and community at risk. We were excited to be customers when it was safe but we definitely will never give money or support to your business and will encourage families to do the same.

UPDATE: I just spoke to the owner on the phone about the COVID policies and their decision to reopen. They are not from our community, and are not local small businesses owners. He acknowledged they are illegally operating and it’s “their choice.” He hung up on me when I was questioning him, and berated our community when I was asking him to consider protecting them. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS, now or in the future. They do not care about Altadenians or the health of...
