I took my son and his buddies to Escape Rooms Altoona for his 13th birthday. We had a ā€œblastā€ in the Apollo Conspiracy room. Better to pay with cash though. They accept cards, but there is a small fee and it takes a little longer. But, the room itself was super cool. It was designed with era specific vintage decor. The room was challenging, and the staff made the experience a really fun time.

First let me establish my opinion on the facility, it was it was a very nice place with a great foyer and initial room entrance. The color pallet used is very modern and welcoming. The bathroom actually has showers for use just in case the room causes you to perspire more than you expect. Now the room, we did serum X it was a fun single yet very open room that allowed space for even a large party. Having 10 people and was worried about the sardine affect and even more sweat, But again they have showers. We even put on lab coats to really feel like a mad scientist. Now staff, Zack our room host was similar to a distant cousin at a family reunion . At first I did not know his energy and he did not know mine but by the end of our time we became great pals and just vibed together. He was very friendly and super understandable. I even used the beloved stool for our escape photo. He was a fine lad and I am glad I now have a great companion in Altoona....

I am really surprised by the high reviews. Comparing this to other escape rooms, it is the most unorganized and dysfunctional one I tried. Things in the room do not work (item was supposed to float in test tube and it wasn't), solved one of the puzzles and the key would not drop (2nd time the girl asked if something was working, to then randomly release the key cause the camera not properly lined up), and not to mention that there is no flow to the puzzles that you solve. It was frustrating and a waste of $125...
