The attendant was very friendly. We did not have to wait at all since we were the only ones in the museum for a while. The attendant told us they were in the process of switching exhibits so one of the floors was completely empty, but the floors that had items were so intricate, beautiful, and fascinating. The pieces are also permanent pieces donated by Dr. William Price and his wife. The interactive art was also a lot of fun and entertaining for my 3 kids (ages 11-15) and myself. We will definitely be back to check out the new exhibits when we are...

The Amarillo Museum of Art, located on Amarillo College's campus, is a shining diamond of arts for the Texas panhandle. You will be surprised by quality and variety of the seasonal exhibitions, as well as the permanent collection of Asian art in the Price Gallery. Offering more than just art on the wall, you will want to check back often for the special openings, lectures, and parties. They offer something for the entire family; children's art lessons to late night openings featuring food and...

Visiting NM from WA, made the trip over because everything mentions the Georgia O'Keefe paintings in the permanent collection. Was disappointed that they were not on display. Nice to see a small work by Louise Nevelson. Could do without the collections of Asian art that should probably be back where it was looted from. The American Indigenous exhibit was very in depth and if you have the time to fully read each piece you can fill an entire day feeling depressed about the treatment that continues...

This is a nice little museum and it is free admission! They have quite a collection of sculptures and statues from Southeast Asia. I wouldn't have expected that from such a small museum. It was pretty neat though! Aside from that, the rest of the museum still had a decent variety for how small it was. I spent about an hour here, but you could get through faster. I was the only person there too, which was surprising. Overall, worth a stop in my opinion.

Visited 8/4/24 on a quiet Sunday afternoon. Enjoyed the photography exhibits as well as the Asian art and exhibits on the 50th anniversary of Cadillac Ranch and art by Swoon. Amarillo should be proud to have this museum! Free, level parking, but there are stairs to get to the entrance. Tucked away on a campus in a quiet neighborhood. Worth the stop and time!

Itโ€™s a quick tour of 30-45 mins, has 2 levels. Itโ€™s for free. There are ample spaces for parking and has restrooms as well. Has small library. There are lot of broken statues of Indian gods which is sad, there are bronze statues of Ganesha, Natrajar etc. Front desk associate patient enough to say about museum. Must visit if you are around Amarillo.
