UMass Campus Recreation — Attraction in Amherst

I just want to talk about the hygiene issues at the gym. Here is an example of ignoring a deep cleaning the women’s bathrooms. I pointed this out to the main office, and even a female office manager ( I am not sure about her position), came to the bathroom with me and I showed the stain. I am sure that these stains are there at least for three years (since I’ve been here). I even put a suggestion note in the suggestion box and still no one cares! The bathrooms should be deep cleaned...

Apart from badminton equipment , everyother facility in Rec center is great. Its worth paying 100$ per semester (for graduates) iff you go to the facility regularly. If you are interested only in badminton then skip paying 100$ and go to boyden in the evenings . You are in total luck if you are a basketball player asI have never seen the basketball courts being empty..

Tip: Rec center is usually less populated in the mornings. Also never forget your Umass card when you go...

My review is for the basketball courts and general feel for the amenities. Great courts, some solid completion runs most evenings. Can get very busy and the wait for a game can be long, so don't lose. Students can "rent" a basketball with the school ID held as collateral. You can also swipe your card to "rent" a shower towel, and swipe again when you drop it off. Great facility. From what I've heard and seen it can be a struggle to get certain weights/machines...
