One of the best rinks I've ever been too. The rink was very clean and seemed to be well run. The employees seemed to be attentive to the customers and always had a bright smile on there face. We attended a speed skate event and came the night before to try out the floor. The wood floor was pretty good, not great but better than average. Loved the overall decor with the neon lights all around and the paint job around the rink. DJ was really good on the Saturday session, he kept things moving with games of 4 corners and a special 16+ shuffle skate. Skaters were very fast in the Saturday night session but this may not be typical as the speed teams were in town. Crowd looked mostly 80% regulars that could skate. 20% seemed to be rentals that ranged equally from never been on skates to they knew how to skate. Floor guards were non existent when I was there. I saw a couple times that it could have been an issue but like I said most of the skaters knew how to skate and avoid the slower or fallen skaters. If I were a newer skater I personally would avoid the late night session. Parking was a little bit small but unsure if it's typically an issue. We happened to go on there 40 year anniversary party and they gave out free pulled pork sandwiches with mac n cheese. That alone was worth the price of admission. Food prices were very fair and reasonable. Typical snack bar stuff. Pizza was tombstone brand $9 for a whole pizza which is a good value if you have a family. They had a T2 pinball game tucked away that I wish I would have seen the night before. Other video games were fairly typical. Big Buck Hunter and a Boxer. The rental skates seemed pretty well taken care of if that's your thing. Bathrooms were well stocked and clean. Plenty of circular tables around the snack bar for eating and conversating. Security checking people into rink was really slow. People were lined up 50 deep around the building to parking lot in the rain. That was not a good first impression but after that the experience got better. Would definitely go to there next speed skate event as it was a great experience overall. Anderson Indiana has a good to great rink and hopefully the town supports this local establishment for many...
Read moreTonight 6/11/22 was one of the worst nights in history. I was kicked out of the rink for a shirt, it was a long shirt with a little heart piece cut out. The moment I got out the car security guards were like “you need to pull your shirt down or wear a jacket because no bellies can show.” I’m like “sir I have no jacket but I will try my hardest to keep it down.” 3 hours later I went to the snack bar for water because I was thirsty, the “boss” or whoever he was started yelling at me like “I knew you had a jacket, why’d you take it off?! if you don’t change you can leave” I insisted walked away because I walk away from problems and come back later. I instantly called my dad and informed him of everything. I tried to wait a bit and the boss followed and came up to my friend and started yelling at her. after a few minutes I went up to the man and said “I don’t thinking it’s fair how you said something to me but there’s other people with worse shirts than mine.” He didn’t respond so I went away, my friend that he yelled at then even went to apologize because she yelled back at him. He cut her off and said he didn’t want to hear it. My dad then came trying to figure out everything and the boss was so rude. After we left I then noticed that he kicked out 8 black people , and didn’t start kicking out the white girls with the worse shirts on until someone confronted him. I’ve been gone to that rink for 5 years now and after tonight I will...
Read moreI went here with my girlfriend and we had an awful experience with staff. First a man in a security uniform very rudely commented on how I was dressed (which was not inappropriately, my sweatshirt showed the tiniest bit of my stomach and I was wearing sweatpants with it) and told me to cover up or I would not be allowed in. I didn’t fight it and just threw on another sweatshirt and was allowed in. Moments later I saw a staff member in a cropped tank top, much less conservative than my sweatshirt. Later in the night, my girlfriend and I were holding hands and were rudely told by a staff member to stop, even though there were tons of couples holding hands. We didn’t understand why we were asked to stop until later when they had their arm around me, using me to keep them steady while we ordered food, and an older lady (a staff member) came up to us and told us that we need to keep our hands to ourselves bc they do not support that there and called us “disgusting”. Now I might understand them asking us to keep our hands to ourselves if we had been making out or something, but she simply had her arm around me, using me to balance herself. Not to mention, there was a couple 5 feet from us sitting in each other’s lap and kissing, but nothing was said to them. We left shortly after and will...
