TENNIS: They have 11 courts here. The 2 in the back middle and the one on the back right are cracked, but still playable (just not competitively). The rest are in good condition. I've never had to wait for a court, even on the weekends. They also have lights to play at night. I've also seen people play pickleball here, but the courts aren't marked.
PICKLE BALL: Wakefield is getting rid of their two platform tennis courts in exchange for 2 new pickleball courts.
CROSS COUNTY TRAIL: Running to Accotink is about 2.6 miles, while the loop around the lake is 5.3 miles - from the baseball fields. Americana park is 1 mile in the other direction and also connects to the CC trail.
Wakefield is a great park with many facilities including the Audrey Moore rec center, skate park, soccer fields, baseball/softball fields, tennis courts, platform tennis courts, a playground, and a basketball court.
The park also has access to running/ biking trails in the park and the Cross County Trail, and a mountain/ dirt biking...

By all means, if you ask me nicely, that you made a mistake and ask me to start little later, i wouldnt mind it. But the coordinator, the front desk girl and kids parents were shouting and bullying me with such entitled attitude was so disgusting and disturbing. I felt threatened⦠i should have called the cop.
My match started at 11 am with nasty glares from the coordinator, staffs, parents who watched us play. It was the most disturbing tennis experience that i encountered. I will never schedule a match here. The rec staff does not know how to step in when there is a dispute and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe came here as a launching spot for a walk, which I wouldn't fully recommend. The skate park and fields all looked well kept and families were out having fun-- so thumbs up to those amenities if that's your destination. But our purpose was to park and access the walking paths and I think there might be better places to start at. The paved path around the fields only links to the paved path along the creek via an unpaved, well worn, grooved dirt path. It's a short distance but not something a stroller or wheel chair or bike can handle easily. There is even a small stream to cross. Then once you get to the paved path in this area, it's not very scenic for a long stretch in both directions. Eventually, we made it to the wooded area where the path curves away from the power lines and there seem to be lots of great smaller trails winding through the wooded area. We might come back but look for a different place to set off from to walk or...
