The Banneker-Douglass-Tubman museum was my main destination on my trip to Annapolis. It sits inside of a restored former AME church in the downtown area. One area had a new aged black artist's work on exhibition. The other permanent exhibition featured history of historic black figures of the Maryland past. The museum does not charge an admission fee, but please find a way to donate to support their cause.

A terrific neighborhood museum with displays set to educate and attendants who are courteous and kind. Attending the Kwanzaa celebration, I was so impressed with the Swahili performance and meal, served thereafter. No charge for all their talent and gifts, I’ll return, next show, as I learned a terrific amount about the diaspora.

Wonderful informational, if there was a fireplace and cups of tea, it would have felt like home. I receivedt some geneology suggestions for trying to move forward with my African American heritage. Lovely gentleman at the desk just hoping you will ask more questions ! We need more of these places and less hatred.

Wonderfully kept and inviting museum. Detailed explanations of the clear and accessible exhibits. Two current art shows available on separate floors in a portion of the museum. Very knowledgeable and hospitable attendant at the front desk. Very kind and personable, as well.

It was my first time there. We had a guided tour with students. It was a lovely experience and very informative, not just about Banneker, Tubman, and Douglass, but about the surrounding area and the impact of African American people on said areas. I will go again.
