It’s kind of hard to do a review on just the Annapolis City Dock. But I’ll try my best. I’ve been here since the early 80s even had a bookstore on Main Street that I ran. Annapolis is its own unique town. Flooded with people in the summer, sometimes feels like a ghost town in the winter. But the holidays will bring people out. In the Annapolis City Dock you can find culture, food, boating, events, entertainment, clubs, specialty stores and much more. My wife and her sister went downtown during the boat show. Although you’re not allowed in, you can walk around. When the boat show is over, you can see all the boats and the Harbour. It’s a great place to hang out on a nice summer day, even in winter when it’s all lit up with Christmas lights and a Christmas tree. And Fourth of July brings thousands of people from all around. I like Annapolis city dock mainly for its versatility of restaurants and food. and if you like romance, walking around at night, time with the dock lit up can be quite romantic. Probably the most amount of restaurants you can find in one area. The dock is surrounded by food, water and people from all around the world. There’s really nothing you can say bad about Annapolis City Dock, it’s a tourist attraction. And of course the Naval Academy is right next-door so you’ll see lots of midshipman walking around. There’s a lot of history in this little town. Next time you’re in Maryland, and not too far from Annapolis stop in at the city dock for some food, strolling and a beautiful sunset. #seafoodrestaurants #annapoliscitydock...
Read moreFor the moment this is a wonderful place to relax. Visit "ego alley" where people proudly show off their floating palaces or just sit by the edge and watch the ducks. But do it soon because the lunatics that run this city want to destroy it by removing what little parking is there and turn it into a "park." It resembles what it was 200 years ago but Annapolis is slowly losing a large part of its history because people making decisions about its future don't care about history in general! The photos are from a recent concert held here of both Thomas Dolby who's hit was blinded by science and Debbie Harry of Blondie fame.
9/29/24. This year's musical artists were highly questionable? Last year the music was phenomenal but this year's "songwriters" were obscure music artists with very little writing ability! Repeating one phrase, " between a bullet and a target", 35 times with very little other words in the song does not make you a songwriter or even a poet! It is truly amazing how people will accept anything in music anymore as long as you pour enough alcohol down their gullets! Many people were leaving long before the event was over! I kept hoping it would get better but it didn't! Ram's head was one of the major sponsors and they should be ashamed to call anything at this year's event as music. We won't waste our...
Read moreGreat area for relaxing, pictures, watching the boats, having a meal, or shopping. We came here to sightsee and have a date night. We went to one of the restaurants and then walked to the docks and on Main Street to checkout some stores. There are several local restaurants nearby since you are in historic downtown Annapolis. Several shopping as well nearby. The dock itself has benches to sit on. There are newspaper machines too. Cobblestone walkway creates part of the historic feel but beware you can trip easily since it is not flat/even and some of them are coming up. There are bathrooms and showers for boaters. They have parking but it can be a bit tight – some of it is free while others are metered. It is very beautiful at the docks. We did not partake in getting the famous ice cream nearby (Storm Brothers) since we were still full from dinner but it is a popular place. We hung out a while just looking at the water. Great area for people watching if you are into that. The Naval Academy is nearby as well if you want to visit that but check the times. I would definitely recommend going to the city dock. It is great if you are by yourself, with friends or family, or...
