Ok. I purchased my tickets to see Michael Frank's perform off of the Rams Head On Stage site. The tickets were $250 each. I thought it had been a long time since I've purchased tickets but the price seemed over the top. I bought them online and it said my seats were good and my view would be clear. Upon arrival, the girl at will call said that our seats were already purchased. Yes, by me. At $250 each. She informed me that I didn't buy them from Rams Head but a person. When I read my tickets it said it came from another ticket company who must have sold them through another purchaser. The girl in will call led us to think we were not going to be able to see the show. It was so confusing. But, after a lot of stress, we were shown to our seats. We were sat at table P or M, wherever it was, you could not physically have placed me further from the stage unless you continued to jam your elbow in the wall behind you and fell onto West St. We were CRAMPED into the last row of tables where the walls met. The table next to us was practically in my lap. Long tables of 10 at the very back of the venue all crowded in a long line if long tables. And if you required food or a beverage to cool you down from all the body heat and hot breathe of the other audience members you now were intimately familiar, forget it. I barely had enough room to clap. Rams Head on Stage presented Michael Frank's and he was exceptional. The process of buying tickets, being duped, not supported by the venue about the situation and thinking you were going to miss the show and lose your money was horrible!!! Rams Head is aware of what goes on with tickets and is not the least but concerned. That reaction and situation was a costly lesson on buyer beware. Rams Head, I grew up here and gave you lots of business. You grew up to be a greedy, stuff the money in every pocket corporation and obviously not concerned about the customer on any level. I'm ashamed of you and will not it be returning. I had seen 2 shows prior to that one with years in between and watched any traces of the old Rams Head start to unravel. Now it's just another squeeze em in till their money falls out venue to make a quick buck off a passing star. No establishment, no service, no food, drink or even the slightest attempt to fix a serious issue about price gauging and acceptable seating as well as all that involves. Being a person on disability, a virtual hermit due to constant pain makes going out a big deal financially and physically. I do not find this scam of presenting yourself as a full service music venue with food and bar to be acceptable in anything other than a facade. Bait and switch. Just get paid. Thank you for participating fully in my robbery. I'd rather know when I'm being held up but Rams Head is like everything else hiding it's deception inside the web so you get too caught up in all the little things before you are FULLY AWARE you are there to feed one great big insatiable 8...
Read moreBeen here a few times and continuously impressed. First, they get acts much bigger than the venue size, which makes ticket prices a little bit higher, but is a real treat for the audience. This place probably holds 200-300 people, and we have occasionally seen the same artist playing for 1K+ over in DC. I'm completely happy to pay an extra $10 a ticket for a more local and intimate show. No seat is farther than probably 100 feet from the stage, so not a bad seat in the house. That said, watch out for the poles and the large side section, as those are less preferred seating areas. Yes, the tables and chairs are a little "cozy" but it is really nice to even have them!! Unless you can buy the whole table, you are rolling the dice a little on who is going to be sitting with you, but we have always had nice table mates. Gott's Court Garage is literally right across the street. This place has free glasses and continuously refilled carafes of ice water at no cost (still irritated at Birchmere in Arlington for refusing to provide water to their patrons). All the staff are friendly and the sounds is great. We haven't eaten there but the prices looked reasonable and food looked good. Draft beers are local and ranged from $5.50 (regular) to $6.50 (seasonal), a very fair price considering they have you captive. This is one of the few venues I have ever been where the restrooms were properly allocated too with the women having more stalls than the men. Honestly, I can think of nothing to complain about - my new fav venue...
Read moreSo this is my second visit in 6 mos. This time, instead of doing like last time (and expecting no issue having bought my tickets online) I went in advance to get my ticket. The first time I stopped in, the receptionist literally ignored me, about 10 minutes, never interrupting her phone conversation, even just to say "Hello, I will be with you as soon as I can, please have a seat...etc." So, I left.
I came back 1.5 hrs later, and a lovely person named Carolyn (?) was very courteous and got me my tickets promptly.
I went to see a singer named @ShelbyBlondell, ans discovered Ben Soleel, as the follow up act, who did soundtrack for the amazing movie Land recently. He was incredible, and the intimate venue was perfect for his innovative use of the cello, great voice and storytelling.
The crab soup, was almost as delicious as in December, less crab, and not quite the same spice mixture.
Blackened chicken tacos, weren't blackened at all, and kind of gross, so sent them back.
Brussel sprouts were glommed in some sauce that took away the goodness of Roasted Brussel sprouts altogether...but ate them out of hunger.
Never got around to the epic peanut butter pie, hopefully that is still the same.
Excellent service by the wait staff, and the hostess for this show was eons better than my last visit in Dec 2021.
May return again. Liked the older menu better though. Look for the official review on...
