Read moreI had heard a lot of stories about this infamous museum and the mystery and gossip surrounding the Bermans and their collection, so I had high expectations upon arriving. I was impressed by the large number of objects on display and the unique, rare weapons, but was disturbed and disgusted to see live and dead insects in so many of the display cases. I saw dead lady bugs and wasps in about 70% of the cases and even watched a lady bug crawl across and unprotected WWI era manuscript. I saw many bug eaten didactics and labels that were peeling or poorly printed on cheap copy paper. I also saw multiple spelling errors on the wall text. There are hundreds of objects and artifacts in this museum that obviously are not being cared for as they should be, which is a real shame, since this is such a unique, unusual, impressive collection. If the glass had been clean, the labels professionally made, no peeling tape inside the display cases, and no dead insects sitting on the objects, I would give this museum 4 stars. As it is, the Berman Museum really needs to step up it's game or the objects won't be in good condition for...
Read moreThis museum covers all wars that we Americans have been involved with. There are all kinds of military odds and ends, weapons, uniforms, facts and more. I do think that the Civil War exhibit needs to include a mannequin wearing Confederate clothing and not just the one wearing Union clothing, since the goal of the exhibit was to compare uniforms of both sides. That is only fair as Confederate soldiers are also part of our history and heritage. Wars covered are both World Wars,Korean War ,Civil War,War of Independence and more. All kinds of guns, swords and other weapons are displayed. It is handicapped accessable as it has both an elevator and staircases. They have a small souvenir store .They have a small cooler full of drinks for sale. The staff is friendly. There is a room you can rent for parties too. Outside ,they have all kinds of palm trees and exotic flowers . Military personnel get in free and have special...
