Longleaf Event Center — Attraction in Anniston

I attended a public annual spring plant sale and had the best time! The staff were extremely inviting, informed, and genuinely interested in plants and gardening and a whole host of other topics! They also pointed me towards a wild turkey that is a resident at the botanical gardens building-- he enjoys looking at himself in the windows! He's also very talkative! The Longleaf Botanical Gardens is a great place to go and sit and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of nature. They also have a nature trail that takes you up into the wooded area behind the Gardens. The Gardens were built by volunteers around the surrounding communities to the gardens. We were there at 10am 8/20/22 and the place was closed parking lot empty. I checked the door and it was locked, no lights, no signs or notices, and no people.
