I think 5 Stars don't do Lone Tree Golf Course justice according to me.
Where do I begin? So I just got married May 17th, 2014 and had a big fat Indian Wedding which took place at Lone tree golf course. I had my wedding (in the day time) and my reception (at night time) there the same day and I think choosing Lone Tree golf course as my wedding venue has been the best decision I had made during wedding planning. Now mind you I had looked at thousands of venues in the bay area and settled on this beautiful golf course for a few reasons.
First, the view is just breathtaking and gorgeous (I will put up photos of my event to prove that). Second, the SERVICE, which was a must for us was so dam amazing, I literally have no complaints. The customer service I got from the get go was spectacular. Third, the PRESENTATION, we did lunch for the wedding, and dessert stations for the wedding and the reception from them and boy was I taken aback.
So for our initial meeting we met Allyson who is the events coordinator at lone tree and Abdon, from the get go they both were just as excited as I was for my own wedding. They worked with us on everything and I had a huge list of things I wanted and in the end I got wayyyyyyy more then I asked for and that is whyI would recommend this venue to anyone who's looking. They accommodated each and every need I had, from the getting in touch with my other vendors to help things run smoothly, to helping my family arrange breakfast snacks at the venue at 8am in the morning, to getting me a pasta station & dessert station for our lunch, to the amazing presentation they had for us, they really attended to my each and every need and for that I must thank Allyson and Abdon for making my dreams a reality. Allyson even let me decorator come a night before to set up so that the morning wedding could go on in a timely manner and I was so so impressed by the amazing customer service.
The lunch was absolutely beautiful, the food didn't just look great but it tasted freaking FANTASTIC and yes I have tasted their sunday brunches before but they really out did themselves for the lunch buffet at my wedding. Everyone at our event raved about the lunch and it was beautifully set up and everything was wonderfully planned with no hitches and I am really grateful for that.
My entire wedding planning I saw a lot of ups and downs with different vendors but with Allyson by myside I really didnt have to worry about my biggest events which was my Wedding and Reception. She really made sure everything was done in a timely manner and she made sure that me or my family didn't have anything to worry about so we could enjoy our party and that we sure did. Thank you so much Allyson and Abdon and the entire Lone Tree Golf Course staff for making my wedding so memorable. Your service was amazing, everyone had a blast at the wedding and raved not just about the venue but about the service as well....
Read moreThe fairways and greens are in the best shape they have been in for a long time and the prices are reasonable (especially if you become an Advantage member).
The practice range is open well into the evening and is convenient. Unfortunately, a good portion of the range balls are old and worn out (though they have just recently started adding new range balls into the mix). Also, the practice facilities consist of a driving range, a putting green, and an area I loosley call a chipping green. The "chipping green" is really small with very little (if any) real rough to chip from. And the longest chip you can practice is about 10, ...maybe 15 yards; not real useful if you want my opinion.
Overall though, Lone Tree is a really nice course to play and enjoy a great lunch for a reasonable cost.
Small things the course should pay special attention to seem to get overlooked sometimes. Things like keeping plenty of fresh, clean, soapy water in ALL the ball washers; keeping fresh (not tattered and worn) wipe cloths (or worse yet, no wipe cloths) at each ball washer. Also, keeping uasable shoe brushes at each ball wash station, and keeping ALL water coolers on the course filled with plenty of fresh, cold water! Lastly, keeping all public restrooms on the course OPEN, sanitary, and clean at all times.
On the brighter side, the public clubhouse is really nice and the food is fantastic, always has been. Restuarant/bar staff are friendly and typically very attentive. And the prices for food and drink is very reasonable...you won't be...
Read morePlayed Lone Tree GC today and was not impressed at all with the condition of the course. Pro shop, cart attendant, snack bar were all fine. My 2 star rating is for the course, but mostly the greens. The course is a short track, measuring out 6200 yards from the tips. It does play a tad longer because of the many uphill approach shots. As for the course lay out, aside from the converted par 4 to a par 3 on the 10th hole, the lay out is a good challenge based on the elevation changes and undulating greens on a few of the holes and small greens on the other holes. The tee boxes are worn from the excessive play since COVID and the fairways are very dry. Also, the greens were unplayable in my opinion. The course likes to say that because of winter, the Bermuda greens are dormant and become brown. But in actuality, they are not watered very much. In fact, all of the greens already have holes pre-cut out and the greens keeper would just change the flag position on a daily basis to not have to cut out new holes. Many of the shots come into the green and roll off the sides or to the front or back. With all the golf that is being played, I found it comical that there were very few pitch marks on the green. It reminded me a lot of poppy hills when it first opened. The layout is challenging enough as it is and then have to play US Open type greens made it a stern test of golf lol. Will only come back if/when the greens are...
