I wasn't originally going to post anything about this interaction but it's been nagging at the back of my mind. First off they do perfectly find work (We had a ring sized and soldered there) so no problems there. The problem comes from whether or not they deem you worthy of service and whether they feel like insulting you.
I dropped off a ring to get sized which was a present for my wife for having our 4th child. We were hoping to get it before the baby came, but as is normal with babies that didnt work out. We stopped on the way home from the hospital to pick it up since my wife was really looking forward to having her new ring.
Since she was still recovering and we had a 2 day old newborn in the car she waited while I went inside. Myself and a couple of other ladies entered the store around the same time. The clerks seem to know them since they immediately went up to them and started casual conversations. Someone else came in after me and another clerk went to help them while I was still standing at the counter. I had one of their slips in my hand so it would have been obvious I was there to pickup.
After about 10 minutes or so one of the ladies finally breaks from her conversation to ask if I needed to pick up something. Now I will admit I was a little curt in my response to her, and to be fair she wouldn't know that I was on my way home from the hospital with a very tired mommy and baby. As a Marine veteran this was uncommon for me as I am very much about treating people with respect. She takes my slip and retrieves the ring for me.
The other customers overheard we had a new baby and were kindly chatting to me about that. The clerk returns with my ring and insults it calling it small which I didn't have time to respond to without interrupting the other customers talking about babies. I believe she thought it was a engagement ring not a gift (why I got one with 4 small stones instead of one large one to symbolize our 4 kids), but regardless who does that? To be fair it's possible she was having a bad day herself. Everyone has off days, and I don't know her circumstances at the time anymore than she knew mine. All that did though was ensure that I won't return for any future service regardless of the quality of work.
The whole interaction came across like if I didn't know them personally they were fine to make me wait, and if I was unhappy about that they would have no problem insulting me to my face. There was a air of "I'm better than you" off of the whole interaction. If they do read this review I would like them to simply take from it that a simple "we'll be right with you" goes a long way, and certainly don't insult your customers if you want...
Read moreI have a two year old Micky Invicta wristwatch. After trying a few jewelers, I took my watch to here. The issue was it kept stopping so it probably needed a battery. I called and asked what the price was to replace and was quoted $15. Not $10-30. When I arrived they remembered me calling The person behind wall on repair, could not open the watch. I left it because the "jeweler" would be in Tuesday. I got a text at 10 am indicating the watch was ready. I arrived at 1 and when the person gave me the watch, it was not running and showed a time of 10:40 am. She looked at it and showed me it had the correct date but not the time. She reset time then charged me $20. I told her I was quoted $15. She said the quote was wrong. I paid and left. 40 minutes later, the watched stopped. I adjusted and it has stopped repeating the same symptoms prior to leaving the watch. So here is my question, wouldn't you ensure the watch was in proper working condition prior to returning and charging the fee? This is the current condition we find ourselves in. Is this incompetence or just plain lazy? I will return tomorrow and will update you on...
