Scheig Center & Gardens — Attraction in Appleton

We rented the Scheig shelter for a event. I toured the shelter twice and while I was touring with event coordinator Elizabeth. I was told, I have access to the upstair's room in the shelter. The day of my event, you are a assigned a host to stay your whole event. My assigned host was Marjoree. During our event, my guests wanted to go upstairs. It was closed off. I asked Marjoree, why it was closed off, she said she's work for them for a year. And they've never allowed anyone who isn't doing a wedding to use the upstairs part. I explained to her, I just met with Elizabeth the day before my event. I had Elizabeth's personal number, and in regards to my late email, her phone number was attached, if any problems on the day of my event. I called and texted Elizabeth about the issue, I was having. She did not call back nor text back until after reaching back out to Marjoree first then getting back to me afterwards. Only then we were allowed access to the upstairs. So FYI: don't rent for any other events unless it's a wedding. Because as my host said, they've never allowed access to the upstairs unless it was a wedding event. Also, the included speaker doesn't have the best quality. The mic worked on and off for us. It comes with instructions and on the instructions it says if we can't get the mic to work, please ask the host for help. That's what we did, unfortunately our host was no help with that either. It would've been really nice to have a working mic. Overall, the shelter was nice just not worth the price. I would not recommend to anyone, who isn't doing a wedding. My husband and I had our wedding ceremony at Scheig Center and Gardens in September 2025. I was looking for an intimate wedding venue in the Appleton area, and came across Scheig. It worked perfectly for us, we could not have had a more beautiful day! Marjoree was our day of person, and we also worked with Leah and Liz in the planning process. Very beautiful place nice walking paths. There's lots of places to take very nice and beautiful pictures the surrounding area has lots of nature and animals that run through the park. There's also a park nearby with lots of activities for all kids ages. There's softball fields in the area lots of places to eat and also an archery range and a skating rink and a pavilion where you can rent.
