Was impressed with the fact that they had a handicapped "Port-A-John" (I have to use a walker) and a couple of hand washing stations. They could benefit from doing better with signing and planning for those that are disabled. I think that I was 1 of 2 people that was disabled enough that we depended on various aids to help with mobility (aids being walkers, wheelchairs, canes, scooters, etc.). THERE NEEDS TO BE SIGNAGE SHOWING WHERE THERE IS PARKING FOR HANDICAPPED/DISABLED PEOPLE ATTENDING THE EVENT (WE WERE THERE FOR THE 4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION). THIS (PARKING) NEEDS TO BE AS CLOSE AS POSSIBLE TO THE PAVED PATHS OR WHATEVER THEY USE FOR PATHS THAT PEOPLE WITH MOBILITY AIDS CAN NAVIGATE (GRASS DOESN'T USUALLY WORK WELL). Also, they could set aside viewing areas for the disabled so they can see the entertainment. Due to lack of signage/directions I had to walk (possibly that is) further and that caused more pain. It seems to be a nice park BUT they could make it easier and more enjoyable for those of us that have to work a little harder to...
Read moreThis park is awesome. I love the material the ground is made of. My daughter has taken a few tumbles with no issue. The main playground itself is more suited to agile 3 year olds and above. My daughter is 3.5 and has issues navigating some of the obstacles. This is also a very busy park, and gets a little nerve wrecking when my daughter is up high and there are older kids running full-speed passed it. This isn't my go-to park for my daughter yet because of this.
There are multiple smaller play sets and side parks however, which allows you to spread out and find your own space, also to find a playset that fits your child's abilities better. Mix that with a beautiful body of water to walk around, plenty of grass to play on. This is...
Read morei visit this park several times a year. this is my kids' favorite park in Appleton. big park with playground, pond, hill, and flower garden on the south half, and baseball diamonds on the north half. the pond is stocked annually with rainbow trout and they are fun to catch despite their small size, and there are plenty of other small panfish to be caught from the little fishing dock as well. my kids love flying kites on top of the hill in the summer, and sledding in the winter. i give 4 stars because the playground keeps getting torn down and rebuilt, they're all great but each time slightly less fun than the one before, so i wouldnt be surprised if the current one gets replaced in just a couple...
