First I noticed the person Iâm doing this review on already has so many complaints and I DO NOT UNDERSTAND how heâs even allowed to still be working at this gym or any gym with the amount of complaints and harassment he has on him already. This gym was my favorite gym to go to at first because itâs one of the gyms thatâs clean and has updated equipment compared to others that Iâve been to. Today September 1, 2025, at your Arcadia location I experienced the most unexpected form of harassment. As a longtime guest of LA Fitness, I brought my husband and a male friend to work out with me. My friend was visiting this location for the first time. During our session, we were simply encouraging one another and sharing exercise tips, as friends often do. However, we were approached by two staff membersâAdam and Samâwho accused us of conducting unauthorized personal training. Their assumption was not only incorrect, but it was delivered in a way that felt accusatory, confrontational, and targeted. After our workout, we made a genuine effort to be cordial and talk through the misunderstanding to see what we could have done better, so we approached the front desk girl in hopes of resolving the issue respectfully. We asked her if we could speak to someone and then Sam walked over to us towards the front check in desk ask what we want instead of saying how he could help us. My husband, who was a guest, tried to address the situation calmly. Sam refused to speak with him, dismissing his concerns entirely. When I stepped in to confront the situation as a longtime guest, Sam continued to deflect and refused to hear anyone outâregardless of whether we were guests or members. His remark to my husband, âWhy are you coming to someoneâs house and complaining about this,â was condescending and inappropriate, and it reinforced a hostile tone that had already been set.
Whatâs also most disappointing is that this was my friendâs first experience at LA Fitnessâand instead of feeling welcomed, he was left with a negative impression of your facility. I believe this incident reflects a failure to follow proper protocol and a lack of professionalism in handling guest concerns. I respectfully request that this matter be reviewed and addressed.    Read moreI really liked the fact that it was new and it wasn't over crowded. This place has always had some problems and now it has really gone to hell. They always seem to be recycling their employees, there isn't usually any of the same people there for much longer than a few months. Everyone who does work there, doesn't care about cleaning or taking care of people. They just worry about selling more memberships. There will be 6 to 10 sales people and trainers all sitting up stairs talking but yet there will be no paper towels in any dispenser in the whole building and the soap will often not be filled in the showers or sinks where people should be washing there hands to prevent germs from spreading. Often Trash cans are full in the locker rooms so there are piles of paper towels on the floor. Then usually there are weights everywhere they hardly ever clean up except for the end of the day... The employees and management here are slobs and make me sick. I wish I went to 24hr, but now that I already paid 300 dollars in start up fees I don't want to leave. There showers constantly have mold, which is gross. The other day I heard a sales person talking to a perspective member and he told the guy that its not over crowded and the guy was like yeah I usually come in between 6 and 9, so it isn't that bad? The sales person told him no. That was a HUGEEEE lie. Those are the peak hours for this gym, everyone comes in later, I think 7pm is probably the worst. Anyways I could say so much more but the bottom line is the managment is terrible and im not surprised Corporate hasent fired everyone and brought in a big gun. Except I suspect they have such high sales nobody cares what they do! They hire sales people, have them get all there friends and contacts in the gym, then fire those sales persons and keep doing it over and over! Smart conartists! Oh yeah and the dry sauna has been working now but I would suspect it wasent working for 3-4 entire months out of the year, they should owe us some money! There has also been time where the hot water was out and nobody warned me! I got in and was so surprised... I'm a real customer and this isn't a joke.    Read moreI am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding an employee named Sam at your Arcadia location. I have been a loyal LA Fitness member for decades (since 1999) , and I have always appreciated the professionalism and welcoming atmosphere provided by the staffâespecially the manager Francesca, who has consistently been helpful and accommodating.
However, during my visit today, I had an extremely unpleasant encounter with Sam. As I was speaking with the receptionist, Sam abruptly stopped by and attempted to intercept our conversation in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. He then falsely claimed that Francesca was stepping down and declared himself the new manager, despite no such information being listed on the LA Fitness website. His attitude was not only rude and dismissive but also entirely unprofessional.
To make matters worse, I witnessed Sam vaping inside the gymâsomething that is not only against gym policies but also highly inappropriate and disrespectful to members who come to the facility for a healthy environment.
What is especially concerning is that the Arcadia location serves a predominantly Asian community, and Samâs behavior toward membersâincluding myselfâfeels discriminatory and hostile. No staff member should make members feel unwelcome, uncomfortable, or disrespected, and if he cannot treat all members with the professionalism and courtesy expected at LA Fitness, he should not be working in this environment.
I urge you to investigate this matter seriously. If Sam is not the manager, it is unacceptable that he is misrepresenting himself as such. Additionally, his behavior, including his blatant disregard for gym policies and his treatment of members, should be addressed immediately.
I would appreciate a response outlining how this situation will be handled, as I take great pride in being a long-time member of LA Fitness and want to ensure the gym remains a welcoming and professional place for all.
