Definitely not an 'easy' trail. Basically uphilll for 2 miles to the lake and downhill 2 miles back.
It was a very hot day in July and sunny when we went. We have been hiking all over Washington State and were used to trees being very tall and blacking out the sun. This trail had a lot more sun exposure than we were expecting so we stopped at the stream to refill water and take a break.
A bear came up behind us within 75 ft. We think he wanted the water too since it was so hot but it was the first and bear encounter we had had so a little unnerving. He moved off with us using a whistle and shouting at him. But that's when we realize this trail might not be used as much as all the other trails we had been on.
