I cannot say enough good things about this place. It is an absolute gem hidden away to find. I've visited museums across America and this one ranks high among them. It is literally crammed full of artifacts from the counties' history and will take a couple of hours to fully see everything inside the museum. But there's more! They have reassembled an entire village adjacent to the museum consisting of several historic structures across the county they disassemble and reassembled. It has the feel of a pioneer village where you're able to step back into history and see life from a much simpler time. The staff is friendly and very knowledgeable of local county history. Additionally, the museum contains what is probably the largest collection of military vehicles (WW II and after) in the state as well as entire room dedicated to the Battle of Jenkins' Ferry, fought a few miles southwest of the museum. I absolutely recommend a visit to this museum and well worth the drive from anywhere...

There are walking trails, picnic tables, and we have even seen deer and other animals roaming the grounds. A friend got married in the little chapel there and it was adorable. If you're looking for something interesting to do in central Arkansas, I highly recommend checking out the grant...

So be on the lookout for the Grant County Museum Signs, enjoy eating your packed lunch on their parking lot, and enjoy your 1-2 hour visit...
