We visited on July 8th, 2022 and had a wonderful experience! There were 4 of us who went on the tour. We purchased our tickets online several days before and there was plenty of availability. Upon arrival, we discovered quickly that we needed to go to the will call window which is a little ways away from the start of the tour but it was just a short walk across the parking lot. A voucher is given at the will call window to then provide to the welcome member at the start of the tour. The welcome member was very polite and made us all feel welcome. Since we had a little time to kill before the tour began, we ventured the short walk to the free onsite museum which was small but yet, well organized and easy to see all the artifacts and replicas on display. We returned to the tour location and discovered that we would be carried to each of the stops on the tour on an air conditioned bus with a guide! About 10 years ago, we visited this place and had to walk to most of the locations. If you have never been here before......the bus with a friendly and knowledgeable driver was a HUGE benefit. Plus, it was air conditioned so on a 103 degree day, which was the temp on the day we visited, the bus was a life saver. All the stops along the tour where you actually got off the bus had at least one costumed guide who did a wonderful job explaining the setting. All the actors the day we visited did a wonderful job and appeared to "stick to the script", which helped everything flow smoothly from place to place. Our favorite actor for the day was the young women who portrayed Mary. She really did a fabulous job and had us all captivated. We will definitely be back in the future! Thanks again, Holy Land staff, for the wonderful...
Read moreThe staff-- drivers and speakers --are doing the best they can in this heat... they are actually amazing and deserve 5 stars... But, it is TOO HOT to be crowded in a bus! It would have been more comfortable and more efficient to have 1 person/seat since getting on and off seemed to take lots of time just waiting in the unairconditioned bus. Also, the speakers/drivers need to be mic'd if the groups are going to be so large. (We were in a group of 2 buses-- the bus we were on included a large [20+] group of 12 and under with only a handful of chaperones 🥴...they needed to be their own group.) The props (plastic fruit, vines, flowers) are worn and need to be replaced. The tabernacle speech was excellent, but was long-- maybe split it half outside the tent, half inside... There is so many ways to improve this tour! I know getting people to work is an issue after COVID, but I was expecting more people and animals in the tour. And, it would have been so much cooler/breezy to walk and maybe we could actually see...
Read moreI took my family to Eureka for the first time yesterday and although it was a fast-paced and long day, the highlight of it was the Holy Land Tour. James was an outstanding tour guide! Even though it was just my family and one other couple, he gave a heartfelt and entertaining tour. You can tell he loves the Lord (and people) and is very knowledgeable about the Bible. As a pastor, I really appreciate the strong emphasis on the power and sovereignty of God throughout the tour.
The opportunity to sing “Amazing Grace” inside the “empty tomb” was surreal. That’s all I can say about that.
Judy in the gift shop was equally as warm and inviting. She was a pleasure to visit with. You all have some great staff working there…do all you can to keep them!
Looking forward to coming back to do it all again when the play...
