I stayed in the downstairs room in the 3-way house in June, 2022. First, the good things: New mattresses, new bedding, new furniture, new pool deck chairs, towel service, all very much appreciated.||||Unfortunately. the property has some cleanliness issues: the hot tub is not kept sanitary and is very murky, dirty filters are re-used every other day, my bathroom was not clean upon my arrival, there was no running water in the kitchen, the refrigerator had not been cleaned and had food left over from other guests. The floors were so dirty they soiled the duvet when it touched it. Though they are very sweet, their pets roam free and leave urine and feces in the flower beds, which reeks when the sun shines on it. There is a strong smell of human urine outside the house I stayed in. One morning, in the pool area, I found wet cigarette butts, flicked ashes, full ashtrays, empty liquor containers, dirty, wet underwear, and other soaked clothing on the bar from which drinks were later prepared. Every morning I awoke, I found discarded shorts, wet towels, food wrappers, and underwear about. The pool filter is compromised, the pool heater and chiller is broken, I never saw anyone check pool pH, temp or chemicals (previous owners checked this 2-3 times per day.) Their biggest problems are sanitation, maintenance, and oversight.||||Owners are rarely present to tend to business, and when they are, it's a hands-off operation for them. You see them around 4-7pm, and then they lock the property up tight with no attendant on-site for guest issues, leave and go out partying (they own a nightclub downtown also,) and don't return until around 1am to party until dawn. After they crash, nobody comes to tend the property until 11am, at which point they let day pass guests in before the property is cleaned up from the previous night’s party.||||One books online, they collect money up-front for the entire stay, one can't get in touch with anyone by phone, the attendant is very kind but, at times, is too busy to keep up with housekeeping. You can ask for tasks like trash to be emptied and air conditioning to be fixed, but none of these housekeeping tasks are done routinely. It’s a complete 180 from how the previous owners operated it. It is no longer Alvin and Charlie running it, so be aware of what you’re getting into with new owners before you book. If you’re young, like to drink heavily, and like to leave the property each night to go downtown drinking, this is your place.||||This sounds extreme, I know, but please, look at pictures and decide for yourself before booking. I have been diagnosed with an infection and parasites from being on their property and using the facilities. I am not exaggerating. Also, I overheard the help saying that some guests were offered a “special invitation” from Anthony for a $100 per night room rate. I was charged $180/night. I’d wait for an invitation before booking at the property if I were you. Just go for a day pass, wear shoes at all times, and make sure to check the cleanliness of the pool and hot tub before you...
Read moreI stayed here while attending a race at the mtb trails up the road at The Great Passion Play. The facility is very unique, sprawling and well maintained, nestled in the valley for privacy, it is surrounded by steep rising landscapes, waterfalls, and beautiful trees. It's just close enough to Eureka springs that you could ride a bike to town if you wanted to, but far enough out of the way to feel like you're in the middle of nowhere in the mountains. Originally, I had just booked a campsite, but while training for the race I ended up breaking my leg, and was completely unable to walk, so I moved to a room, which was also very nice. After I broke my leg, I called Alvin, one of the owners, that morning just to see if they by any chance had any crutches laying around- and Alvin actually instead drove me to the store to get some because I couldn't drive myself. He then drove me thru town and made sure I had the food and medication I needed. When we got back to the retreat, Charlie, the other owner, had ice packs ready for me in the room. They checked on me throughout the day for 2 days until I was able to organize a group of friends to come help me get home, and I can honestly say I don't know what I would have done without Alvin and Charlie. Two awesome and accommodating owners, beautiful land, beautiful buildings, and a top notch heated pool/sun deck to enjoy. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun private getaway with your partner or a...
Read moreLet’s be honest, at first I was hesitant to go to a “clothing optional resort” in Eureka Springs, AR. I have been in many resorts and nude beaches around the world so I was very skeptical about anything like it in the Ozarks.
To my surprise, MVR is a great place to hang out with friends or to meet new friends while basking in the sun. I am yet to stay in the lodging facilities but I have enjoyed the pool and cabanas with a day pass. The place continues to be updated for the better and it shows the dedication and love from the new owners/ management to ensure it is a great place for men to enjoy a peaceful relaxing day in a cozy natural setting.
The staff is very friendly and attentive. The pool facilities are very comfortable, specially the cabanas — which are a favorite of mine. The pool is a salt water pool and it is very refreshing during the hot Arkansan summers.
Prices for the day passes and cabanas are very affordable. Make sure you get there early if you want a cabana because they go fast. If a cabana is not your thing, there are many areas where you can enjoy sitting with friends and/or sunbathing.
A stocked bar is also on site and there is a small charge if you wish to bring a cooler with you.
I will only give them a 4 star rating, not because they don’t deserve 5, but so they never get complacent and continue to strive to get better.
It is a worth the visit....
