So, here I am at the Christ of the Ozarks attraction, trying to make sense of this sculpture that's more confusing than a Rubik's Cube in a tornado. But wait, it gets weirder! I struck up a conversation with one of the workers, and he let me in on a little secret – apparently, this statue was airlifted here from Rio de Janeiro. I was sworn to secrecy, but seriously, how can you keep something like that quiet? It's like the art world's best-kept helicopter secret!

Now, you'd think that tidbit would bump up the rating to almost a 2-star, right? Well, think again. As if a confused-looking, chopper-transported "Christ" wasn't enough, there were swarms of bugs having a party on his face. I mean, it's hard to find spiritual enlightenment when you're getting up close and personal with a cloud of gnats.

When I mustered the courage to ask the same worker about the bug situation, he pulled me aside like we were discussing nuclear launch codes. And what's the big secret? Apparently, the bug spray was on back order. Seriously, folks, if your holy monument needs bug spray, something's not quite right.

So, despite the jaw-dropping helicopter revelation, we're back to a solid 1 star. At least now I understand why "Christ" looks so grumpy – he's playing host to an insect...

Located in the scenic town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the Christ of the Ozarks statue is a striking and serene monument that’s worth a stop if you’re visiting the area. Standing 67 feet tall with outstretched arms, the statue is both impressive in scale and surprisingly simple in design. It’s perched on a hilltop and offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Ozark Mountains.

The site is free to visit, with ample parking and peaceful walking areas around the statue. It’s especially beautiful during sunrise or sunset when the light hits the white figure in a particularly dramatic way. We can sense of calm and reflection while walking around the grounds.

The surrounding area includes attractions tied to the religious theme, like The Great Passion Play and a Bible museum, making it a nice stop for those interested in Christian history or cultural landmarks.

Pros: • Free admission • Peaceful setting and great views • Historical and spiritual significance

Cons: • Limited amenities on-site • Design may feel underwhelming to some

A worthwhile stop, especially if you’re already exploring Eureka Springs or on a scenic drive...

This is a very special place. I did not see the museum or the passion play, but just had time to enjoy the statue of Jesus and the little church there by the bottom of the statue. I am a strong follower of Jesus and love to see things wherever I go that witness to something about Him or His Word. I must confess that I went to this thinking it would be a cheesy tourist thing like a big ball of twine, or a plastic Paul Bunyan. I was totally blown away by the presence of the Holy Spirit in this place. The view is exceptional and the statue of Jesus is tasteful and inspired. It is sad that they did it in plaster and wood frame because it needs a constant upkeep, but clearly the people who made it were in The Spirit. The little church house at the base of the statue is very sweet as well. This litttle church house is a great place to pray. You can really feel God's presence all over the place. I do suggest that even if you only have 1/2 hour it is worth the trip out from the highway to come here. I think you...

Christ of the Ozarks Statue in Eureka Springs, AR was an amazing place to visit. The Statue itself is pretty impressive and can be seen throughout most of downtown Eureka Springs. Along with the Statue, they have a piece of the Berlin Wall, a Bible museum, a passion play (spring through early fall), and a tour of the Holy Land (replica obviously). It was truly a magical experience and I plan to visit again during The play season. #travel #fyp #roadtrip #vacation #bucketlist #traveltiktok #foryou #foryoupage #adventure #arkansas #passionplay
