I was in town for a family vacation and this course was the only one with an open tee time. $70 for this course was a crime. Two of the holes were under construction and therefore unplayable, which they told us about before the round. However, on another hole, the tee box was moved up to a random spot on the fairway. Worse yet, on the 17th hole, we were hitting toward the green but couldn’t see the flagstick. Once we got up to the green, we realized that there was no hole on the green and the flagstick was just sitting on the ground. Then, a worker pointed out a random hole in the fairway that we were apparently supposed to play to. A hole. In the fairway. With no flagstick. You can’t make this stuff up. I couldn’t believe it. And they didn’t even tell us about that hole prior to the round. We just ended up skipping the hole because we had hit to the wrong spot (the green), meaning we only played 15/18 holes—reminder, we paid $70 for this round. I understand that they’re working to get the course in better condition and make improvements, but I wish they would have been more transparent about the renovations and offered a discounted rate. The overall condition of the course was also not great—brown spots and dead spots throughout the fairway. I am not a course snob and a mid-90s golfer, so I’m not picky, but to pay $70 to play this course was ridiculous. If I had spent $30-35, ok—I can definitely live with some imperfections. But $70 was ridiculous. I would never go to this course again and am very disappointed with the money I spent there.

Pat, the general manager for this course called me after seeing this review. He was very apologetic and cordial about discussing my experience here and offered me a full refund for my round, as well as a free round once the course is finished with their renovations. I was very impressed and appreciative of him reaching out and offering me this, so I gave the course an additional 2 stars. Although my experience was not the best, the customer service in remedying this was exceptional, and it seems like it could very well be a much nicer course in the...
Read moreThis is a classic Donald Ross design where I learned the game of golf and have played the course for 32 years. Everyone I have met through the years has been helpful and respectful. The course was actually featured on The Golf Channel a few years back.
The course is a tale of 2 different sides. The front 9 is flat and wide open and welcomes your driver on all par 4s and 5d. The back nine is tighter, has lots of elevation changes, uneven lies, and you have to think your way around. Right now, 6/25, the greens are challenging, fast, and in excellent condition as they are preparing for The SkyView Open tournament in July. Do your best to stay below the hole cause downhill putts can go screaming past the hole and off the green.
Sadly, the course is not maintained as it deserves to be considering it's a Donald Ross design. Most tee boxes are scarce on grass and not level. The fairways are thin in spots, and a couple on the back 9 are almost unplayable. The cart paths are in serious need of repair. You have to watch where you're going or you might bounce yourself out of the cart!
The staff I encountered were very friendly and accommodating. The starter, CY, is an extremely funny guy and knows customer service. The other starter, Baxter, is a genuine gentleman and very interesting. These fellas willingly took me under their wings and taught me a lot about golf.
If you can find a discounted tee time and aren't expecting private club conditions, give "Muni" a chance and you just might find yourself having a great time. It's a good place to meet some mighty fine local people from all...
Read moreThe only reason it gets one star is because it had 18 pin flags with 18 holes. Otherwise deserves negative stars. My boyfriend and I play regularly and always enjoy checking out new courses. While not every course is pristine, this one takes the cake for being the most disappointing, or more honestly, unplayable. Tee boxes were decrepit, with tee box markers haphazardly placed in the “rough” in front of them because the condition of tee boxes themselves were long gone. Weeds everywhere. “Fairways” with grass over an inch tall. Bunkers were rock hard. The “rough” of this course meant climbing through weeds over a foot tall. Some women’s tee boxes were completely missing, or required a trek through bug ridden weeds. Absolutely disappointing. Paid $100 to play on a Saturday and regret not going back after the first hole to get our money back. Save your money and spend more anywhere else. This place needs to be completely closed, and open in a year or two when it is a golf course. It was busy, but only because there is nowhere else nearby. Pictures don’t do justice for how poorly this place is maintained. And for what it’s worth, I’ve never felt compelled to leave a review before in my life, THATS how bad this was. OH! And the golf pro took a young kid to give him lessons chipping….. into the fairway of the hole we...
