Work began on Ashland City's first public Dog Park on December 7, 2021. Phase one, the establishment of the park, was completed on December 10, 2021. The park was a true community project spanning 8 years of fundraising and grant writing efforts by the Cheatham County Dog Park Pack, Cheatham County Animal Awareness Foundation dba PAWS, Cheatham County Chamber of Commerce and the Boyd Foundation through the Dog Park Dash grant. Thanks also goes to the town of Ashland City, town, and county leadership and business owners that helped make this happen. Lately, thanks goes to everyone who donated time, energy, goods for raffles at events, or money to this cause. The dogs now have a place to play, and it's all thanks to you. We'll see you at the dog park!

September 15, 2023 The Willow trees are doing well to help with water management to help keep mud to a minimum. The water fountain is installed, and the sidewalk to the gate from the parking lot is in place. We're working on getting benches installed now. Thank you for your continued support.

September 24, 2024 The benches are in, and the water fountain is working. There has been damage to the fence. Parks and recreation are getting it fixed. Please play nice y'all so we can keep adding things. We hear you on shade and features. That is being discussed for next year's budget. Reach out to Cheatham County Dog Park Pack on Facebook, Ashland City Parks and Recreation, or the leaders of Ashland City, TN, for ways to help your dog park. Keep the comments coming! More photos! Thank you all for your...

The doggos always have a blast when they come here! There is a large fenced in section for the bigger doggos and a smaller section for the little doggos. There is plenty of space to run and get all of their zoomies out! The fencing is very sturdy and secure. There are 2 small trees but only one really gives shade. I'd definitely recommend bringing an umbrella or wearing sunscreen! The built in doggo water fountain is also great! If your doggo is a heavy player I'd also recommend a bowl you can fill up with water and actually bring in the park since the water fountain is just outside the gate. This place is always well maintained grass wise...

I am thrilled about the dog park. Such a great use of the space! It’s nice to have two different areas since my dog is under 10 pounds. I do wish that there was a water source during the summer, and also that benches for the people were available- but I’m not complaining. Just a suggestion! It’s never been ultra crowded, sometimes we’ve been and there’s no one. I do wish more people would use it, my dog needs the socialization. Around 5 seems to be when most...
