I would like to preface by saying that the food here is amazing. Fresh ingredients, house-made sauces, and the meats are obviously well cut and presented. However, that's where the positives end. Although the food is incredible, the atmosphere is lackluster at best. Tiny, cramped, hot, humid, far too uncomfortable to enjoy your meal. You may as well order and leave. Where there is severe humidity in a kitchen, one can only imagine what goes on during the preparation process. I sat down to enjoy my food (which was The Turkey, I believe) and was immediately fighting for the rights of my own sandwich against flies. I understand that kitchens have flies. Flies exist and are prominent this time of year. But it leads me to wonder how the flies are supposed to be controlled in the preparation environment. If there's 4-5 flies buzzing around my sandwich alone, who's to say there aren't any flies getting trapped in sauces when the cooks aren't establishing their meals for the day? The ground is incredibly filthy and looks like it hasn't been cleaned since the grand opening. If you can look past the surface level cleaning, you will find a decent meal that'll feed you well for a price that is outrageous for the Ashland area. $13-ish dollars for the equivalent of a serving size of hummus? I don't care about the ingredients used. That seems pretentious, given the area is the equivalent of a one-horse town. Prices can be adjusted though. If it's falling short, there's nothing wrong in adjusting the cost of product. The owner would know what to do, I'm sure. Speaking of owner (or who I can only assume to be the owner given the way he speaks to people) he is a taller man that goes on outrageous power trips. Look, I get it. It's your business. You want it run properly, yes? Tell me how it looks when you have a store of around 7-8 people and you start badgering or berating an employee of yours? I do not remember what the purpose of it was, all I know is that it was not just rude, but incredibly demeaning to whoever he was speaking to. I didn't get a good look of the situation, nor was it my problem. But that attitude is what creates a toxic and hostile environment. Not to mention, on multiple occasions, have I heard this owner speak so highly of himself. Talking about his international travels, how he's trained with top chefs, how he's this incredible guy, it's no wonder he feels that he needs to present himself as a boss. Just that one instance let me know that he is a terrible leader and is lucky to have anyone under his supervision. The way I heard him speak to another human being was the very definition of saying "I'm better than you. So listen to me." Sure, the food tastes good. But the atmosphere, cleanliness, attitude towards employees, and prices proves to me that this place, as a restaurant, is no more than another "adequate" eatery that is destined to fail in a few years. Good luck to you, Metta. The Lord of the Flies was always my...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am super happy with this quality cafe addition to growing Ashland City. Metta CafĆ© is a small cafĆ© that delivers great flavor. It is a must-stop if you care about what you eat since they are not your average cafe. Everything is meticulously prepared in front of the customers by Chef Akshay Soni and his crew. They do have a great grab-and-go selection if you are in a hurry and canāt wait for your meal to be made to order. I have tried their chocolate and plain croissants, walnut chocolate chip giant cookies, blueberry crumble cake muffin, lamb pastry, chicken Caesar salad, the 90 Miles and Turkey sandwiches, energy bites, and hummus. I loved every single one of them so far! Today, I tried while waiting for my bacon, egg, and cheddar breakfast biscuit, Chef Ashkay's take on the traditional Lorraine quiche, and his version was superb! It had basil, my favorite herb, thinly sliced zucchini, mushrooms, ham, and, of course, eggs and cheese. Please don't go by the menu since they always have something new to offer. The whole crew is super friendly and welcoming, and I sincerely hope this brings more quality restaurants and cafes to our town run by passionate chefs like...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCute little place downtown Ashland City. At first, I thought it was pretty pricey, but I was willing to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. I got the BLT and added chicken. First of all, you can tell the ingredients are top notch, high quality. The sous vide chicken was tender and flavorful, and the sandwich was very large. The cashier was very friendly and knowledgeable and was very quick to accommodate my special request. The chef himself, delivered my sandwich with a smile and a thank you. I had a delicious lunch and will definitely be back. High quality ingredients, excellent service, and excellent flavor were definitely worth the price point. A fantastic addition to Ashland City, and a nice change of taste from the other restaurants...
