I absoutly enjoy Benedictine College. I feel if I'm not able to visit several times a year I'm missing out on something. This sacred place makes me feel grounded. The campus is beautiful with so much history within the college itself, as well as the beautiful architectural surroundings. I have shared my secret place with many who I hold dear.....not voicing how I feel about this wonderful place and at the end of the day it warms my heart......they get it. You don't have to be Catholic to enjoy what is before you, but I know you will feel that sweet breath of calm come over you. There is a full day of interesting areas on campus to visit that creates an appetite to stop off at the Dining Hall. They have good food and a big selection. During your visit take the opportunity to visit with the students , you will be amazed how welcomed you'll feel. Walking around the campus and visiting the Monastery, the beautiful buildings, enjoying the beautiful works of art, it is rather impressive. Ask if you can have a tour guide , they would enjoy sharing their time with you. Benedictine has all types of sports you can attend during the semesters and the Football Season is fun to attend during home games. Look on the web site and check all they have to offer. It's a wonderful day trip espically during the peak of our four seasons. I would love to go back in time only to be a student for one year at Benedictine College.
I can't take credit for this photo. The original was so dark and I wasn't able to see the background. I edited it by adding light to the background. Just love how the photographer framed...
Read moreI love this place, I couldn't imagine going anywhere else. Its a beautiful campus - everyone who visits, including local and regional sports teams, can't stop talking about how pretty it is. Especially in the spring and the fall - its a must see. There are several look out locations on campus behind the Abbey buildings which you can look out over the Missouri River - being on top of a mountain, its a darn cool view. For the most part, the staff are kind, engaging and just all around great people to be surrounded by. The community life brought by the students from all walks of life (I am from Virginia but I know people from Florida, California, etc) is authentic. Most people, if you asked them what their favorite thing about the college is, would say that it is the people/community. Everyone is friendly and truly cares about one another. Here you can find true friendship while getting a great, engaging education - I am currently seeking a degree in Theology & Evangelization Catechesis, and I love the professors so far. Even if this place isn't at the top of your radar, or the location seems bizarre (before coming here, I didn't even really know where Kansas was), give it a try - whether or not you decide to attend, you...
Read moreI had my eyes set on Creighton and visited on my way home from Creighton's admitted students weekend. I had finally convinced my parents that Creighton was worth the cost when we decided to stop by BC since I wanted to settle my mind on our way home. They proved they had the academic reputation to get me into medical school, and it was a no-brainer after that. I love the community, the formation, the personal attention, and the committment shown across this institution. It was cheaper than anywhere other than OU for me, and I love hiking through the woods behind the Abbey. No college is perfect for everyone, but this college is full of authentic people and has an...
