St. Benedict Catholic Church — Local services in Atchison

St. Benedict Catholic Church is a beautiful architectural structure in Atchison. It sits at the bottom of a hill entering toward the main part of Benedictine College. It is filled with beautiful stained glass , wood and marbel. Harry and I have gone to St. Benedict Church a number of times, but my favorite services that I recall have been 2 Easter church services and 1 Christmas. I was truly moved by the service during those times. We travel the distance from Independence to Atchinson to attend church for a special reason. At times when I need spiritual boost, it's Benedictine that I turn to. Harry's cousin is a Prist at the College and has been there for over 50 years. When we spend time with him, just having normal, non spritual conversations, I still feel calm and uplifted just by the surroundings.

Harry and I Visited this Church about a week ago and it was posted on the outside Church Service Announcement Board it's a Presbyterian Church for those who are intetested in it's Denomination. I don't know if it has changed recently, but the next time I visit, I'll ask Father...

This is my home Parish and I love it. I can't speak highly enough of it. I have a lot of friends who speak very highly of the Latin mass and derogatory oftentimes of the novus ordo but whenever they do that I always say that if you ever want to see a very reverent novus or do Mass this is the place to be... Beautiful old church well maintained. This was the original and past St. Benedicts Abbey. Elizabeth Hall behind the church was the original abbey. Now a womens dorm with Benedictine College. You will step back in time coming here with the architecture inside and the statues. Located on the campus of Benedictine College. Search for St. Benedict's Abbey for the current church...
