I took my kids (8, 5, & 1) as a little homeschool field trip. It's a beautiful house, and we enjoyed seeing all the artifacts and hearing the history.
All the staff working were very welcoming and graciously listened to the many comments my kids had.

The carriage house is a gift shop and there's a 20 minute video to watch as well. The video covers Atchison and it's history which is very interesting. The home and museum covers historical events and culture. It's a nice place to visit...
