On 19 February 2020, my three children and I visited C.T. Martin Natatorium to swim. We were greeted by site coordinator, Tracy Alexander who questioned my three Children if school was in session. I informed Mr. Alexander that we were there to swim and I proceeded to sign in.
After signing in, we changed in the locker rooms and showered. Pool manager, Drellie Bashir was on duty as a lifeguard. Before entering the pool, we warmed up and stretched for 10 minutes to prevent injury. Prior to getting into the pool, lifeguard, โJesseโ had come on duty and instructed us not to enter the pool and to take a shower. I told him we had taken our showers before coming out onto the pool deck. He said that since we were warming up we were โsweatingโ. I stated that we had taken our shower and were not โsweatingโ. However, he insisted that we could not get into the pool without showering a second time.
During the time while my three Children were swimming, Mr. Bashir approached me to ask if my three Children were in school and also stated that I was not permitted to "coach" my three Children while standing on the pool deck. I told him that I was not โcoachingโ my three Children and that they were in the pool to swim. Mr. Bashir proceeded to explain a specific incident about a parent who brought seven children to the pool apparently โcoachingโ them from the pool deck. I confirmed that I only have three Children and explained that they were in the pool to swim.
The intrusive personal questions about my three Children and comments about me "coaching" on the pool deck were inappropriate as our sole purpose for visiting the Natatorium was to swim. I sincerely hope that families with children do not encounter such treatment as we experienced at C.T. Martin. As a mother who wants her Children to embrace exercising and swimming in a positive environment, I hope that the staff at C.T. Martin will be more welcoming to mothers with children and not interrogate guests with highly...
ย ย ย Read moreThis place is big, I was there for a job Fair which was very informational (for the city of Atlanta) they are definitely hiring and weโre calling back the next day. There were regular guests during the event, who were bragging on the gym which looked very clean didnโt smell bad. There was a man who also bragged about the pool but I didnโt see it. There were many fliers for recreational, camping, events for teens and toddlers for the summer. Iโd definitely make time to go back and visit. Open to the public, plenty handicapped parking. Cute park out front for small children secluded the parking lot is busy but for the most part the drivers were driving appropriately but be careful when exiting the lot they were back to...
ย ย ย Read moreIt was my first time here and I came to swim. The people upstairs have no idea how anything in aquatics works. The office downstairs was empty so basically no one here knows anything. Most of the lockers don't work and if you think bringing your own lock will solve that, it will not as they have gone out of their way to make sure you can not use your own lock. You must bring a quarter yes in 2025 like you do at aldi to use a public facility you pay for. This is the only way to use the lockers. This place is basically a day care center and will make you seriously regret buying your membership. I'm already halfway through my 1 year membership and I won't be renewing its...
