My fiancé and I recently took a campus tour with Nicholas, and unfortunately, our experience was extremely disappointing. When we asked a simple question about the total cost of attendance, he immediately gave us numbers and then stated, “If it’s not for you, I don’t want to waste your time and continue the tour.” At no point did we suggest the price was “too much” for us—we were simply requesting information.
Throughout the tour, he repeatedly emphasized that “if it’s not doable or not for us, we don’t have to continue.” Instead of focusing on the school itself, This not only distracted from the purpose of the tour but also made us feel singled out and discouraged.
As a Hispanic woman and with my fiancé being Black, I felt strongly that we were being racially profiled. The way we were spoken to suggested that we were being dissuaded from considering the school, rather than welcomed or persuaded to join the community. I cannot imagine a white couple being treated in the same manner. The entire interaction felt dismissive, demeaning, and disrespectful.
Nicholas also mentioned that he was leaving for vacation the next day, which left the impression that maybe he was not invested in giving us a meaningful tour so he could have a mellow last work day. Overall, what should have been an exciting and informative experience was instead extremely discouraging. I left feeling disappointed and disrespected, when I had truly hoped to leave with a positive impression of the school. EDIT: I received a call back from a lady in admissions regarding my concerns. She stated she had listened to the recording and told me, “I’m sorry you feel that way, but I didn’t hear anything wrong. Sometimes the price is a deterrent for people.” When I explained that Nicholas had made the comment multiple times, even when I didn’t have any concerns for the price she dismissed it by saying, “I Only heard him say it once,” to which I responded “He said it a few times.” She replied with “ Okay, two times, but I personally only heard it once,” which implied I was exaggerating or lying.
Instead of acknowledging our experience or offering a genuine apology, she asked me to take down my review since it mentions Nicholas’ name. If she had simply validated our concerns, apologized appropriately, and not pressured me to remove my review, I would have been willing to take it down. Unfortunately, the way this was handled left me feeling even more disrespected and dismissed. I would’ve definitely gave you guys a second chance but this overall experience made me extremely disappointed, I am no longer...
Read moreI graduated in 2016 from an MA program at this school and I recently returned for another tour on their Radiology program with my niece because we were both interested in joining together. The school itself is legit good, good teachers and programs. My only warning is for the sales people.. I mean Advisors, who it seems are only interested in meeting their head-count quota for filling in classrooms. I don’t exactly know how that works to be honest but there must be some ulterior motive for them to be so persistent and convincing on getting you to sign up for their MA program. Maybe they have a ton more available seats there than they do other classes? Not sure but when I came to them in 2016 interested in their nursing program, the lady also made me feel like I had no choice and had to sign up for MA first and maybe in future come back for the nursing, so I did and I regretted it ever since. It’s not easy after you graduate and have a 17K loan to have to pay to just come back to do the nursing program “later on.” Some of us just have that 1 shot at schooling and we would love to have someone actually guide us into making it count, not convince us to sign up for what would make their own agenda profitable. This time when I returned with my niece, again they did the same thing and pretty much told her and kept referencing that she was better off in the Medical Assisting program. Even though I asked during the meeting “But she doesn’t have to right? She can still sign up for the RAD program?” He explained yes she can but its just better if you have a medical background to apply for RAD, which I get, but he still kept referencing through the conversation when he would show us the schedules, classrooms, plan, he would still reference it as if the the MA program was for her and RAD for me. As we drove off and talked about it, my niece said she was glad that I went with her otherwise she wouldn’t have known better and would have believed the guy that she had to sign up for a $18K MA program first. There are several pathways to RAD and Nursing, it DOES not have to be via an MA program that they try to sell you here. They should just tell you your options and have YOU decide! Giving 3 stars for the actual goodness of the school but subtracting the 2...
Read moreI was enrolled in the LPN program at Concorde and lets just say they fail to tell you EXACTLY how the LPN program is ran.
When applying to Concorde they lead you to believe they will help you in anyway possible. You are to believe that you will have a flexible schedule but in reality say goodbye to your life for the next year. There are a total of 5 terms of 10 week intervals. You are expected to be in class at 8 am sharp, if even a minute late you are expected to make that minute up by going in early in the morning at 7am, this also includes going to the restroom so if you got to pee I suggest holding it until break. You are required to pass all your classes with a 77% if even 0.01% off you are automatically withdrawn from ALL your classes (this include the classes you are currently enrolled in) and required to start the term over. Concorde prides itself on being "fair" but this in fact is not true. There were multiple times during a test you could hear students whispering answers to each other in the back row (could this be because they had a friendship/relationship with the teacher in this term? In other words this teacher would discuss her sex life with the students that were "caught" cheating and never reported), when this was reported by the students nothing was done, but it was during this same test where students were withdrawn for not passing the class with a 77%, one of these students failed with a 76.5 (should that be rounded?). Teachers are always quitting or being fired in the middle of a class. Not all but most of these teachers are unorganized and have no clue what they are are doing half of the time. For example I spent a whole Friday from 8am-4pm watching movies like "Somethings Got To Give", talking and doing nothing which all could have been spent on learning. If you are looking to go into this program take my advice and take your $30,000 elsewhere, with that type of money you can get your RN. Do major investing before applying to Concorde, look up accreditation status...
