This is a pretty fairly easy trail. We walked and biked through these trails and took it all through Roy G Guerrero park and it was a great ride, despite the short part of trail with all the homeless camping and trash. They did some upgrades under the Montopolis bridge with still some work to do but it definitely looks better than what it did years ago.

Water is easily accessible, there is ample parking, and plenty of space to post up under the shade of Montopolis Bridge. (Aside from additional trash containers being needed - and more routine trash pick up) the park is a relatively quiet place to relax.

If I could give a 0 stars I would. This trail is extremely disgusting. It is full of trash, smells like pee, theres homeless camps everywhere with trash EVERYWHERE. I cant believe that this is a “wildlife sanctuary”

This place is "average" in that it has strong pluses and minuses. I walk here around twilight and gave seen wonderful wildlife - robins, big white birds i guess are cranes, a skunk not run over, two whitetail deer, beautiful river scenes, butterflies, cardinals etc. and expanses of relatively undisturbed, halfway ecologically healthy plant growth. Also it has a few undisturbed established long-term campers cooking out with massive amounts of litter, camp fires grilling, a kitten, large tents etc. There's litter along the paths , big bags of it not taken out of the park, lots of beer cans and food wrappers. A microcosm of the interplay between...

I love coming to this spot, unfortunately in the past couple years there have been massive amounts of trash accumulated along the bank. I don't mind people living here or doing what they need to survive, but this needs to be cleaned up and some more trash cans need to be provided for the people who come here along with regular cleanups. This is supposed to be a wildlife sanctuary!!! Parks and recreation need to come spend...

As mentioned there's a lot of refuse from camps and people fishing and just leaving their beer cans. Pack it out for peets sake, it's lighter after you drink it! The trail along the river was either overgrown or not well marked. Go across the river to Roy Guerrero for a less sketchy area and nice trails. Beautiful area otherwise, I did see lots of birds, butterflies and wildflowers...
