Very disappointed with the service. I am not someone who usually leaves reviews, but when people are repeatedly misled, wasting their time, money, and energy, I feel it’s important to speak out.
I recently saw Austin Calm’s Instagram post advertising a free paddleboarding lesson. I specifically messaged them on Instagram to confirm if I needed to sign up or register beforehand, and I was told I did not need to.
So imagine my surprise when I arrived for the 12 PM free paddleboarding lesson, only to find the staff unprepared and unable to accommodate me. Since I don’t have a car, my friend and I had to Uber there and back—$50 wasted—only to be told that the post was from an external marketing company spreading inaccurate information. They mentioned they had already canceled on another group the day before for the same reason.
I politely asked if there was another way to make it work, but was told “no” because I arrived exactly at 12 PM and hadn’t registered beforehand. The problem is, there was never an option on their website to register for a free paddleboarding session—and there still isn’t.
I understand mistakes happen, but it is Austin Calm’s responsibility to correct them promptly and make reasonable accommodations when customers are promised one thing but given another. What made this worse was the attitude of certain employees, who seemed almost annoyed—as if the situation was my fault—despite me double-checking beforehand, arriving on time, and remaining...
Read more100% recommend!! We made reservations in advance through the Mozart's Coffee Roasters website. Super easy. This location was great because we grabbed a coffee at Mozart's and then went out on the water.
The team member that checked us in was fantastic and so friendly. They had cubbies for out stuff. We rented a dry bag from them (highly recommend because your stuff will get wet). We brought our own water proof pouches for our phones to keep them even more safe but Lake Austin Calm rents those out as well.
The lake was a little choppy but not bad. We went straight back and went into some calmer water. Back and to the left was absolutely stunning. Just surrounded by tress and enclaves. We saw a few turtles and a bunch of jumping fish. The paddle boards were beginner boards and super stable, so made standing easy (in calm water). The water was really clean too, you could see the fish swimming by you.
After, we got back we grabbed another coffee and chilled on the deck. Was such a great experience and a great location. Would 100% do...
Read moreI just have to rave about the floating yoga class at Lake Austin Calm at Mozart’s-it was honestly amazing! Doing yoga out on the water was such a cool experience. The views are gorgeous, and it’s so peaceful out there. I felt like I was on a mini-vacation, even though it’s just minutes from downtown.
The instructor was fantastic-super friendly, encouraging, and made everyone feel comfortable, no matter your skill level. She explained everything so well and kept the vibe really fun and relaxed. I loved getting to combine my love for paddleboarding with yoga in such a beautiful setting.
This isn’t just a yoga class; it’s a total reset for your mind and body. I left feeling refreshed, happy, and so glad I tried it. Plus, grabbing a matcha latte at Mozart’s before or after is the cherry on top.
If you’re looking for something unique to do in Austin, I can’t recommend floating yoga at Lake Austin Calm enough. I already can’t...
