I dont know if I'd call a giant hydro-electric plant basically on the beach (with water run off onto the swimming area) a beautiful view, (obviously the water runoff must be clean but still, the thought of factory water run off into a swimming area is kinda sketchy...)and the beach is small, but its very clean with soft sand for swimming and there is also nice fishing pier. They charge 5$ to put in from the boat ramp which is stupid but you can carry a kayak down the ramp to the beach and launch there. My kayaks are 75lbs and the walk to the beach carrying one at a time (my pulls are broke and bf has a slipped disc) is doable but I probably couldnt have carried it if the walk to the beach was any...

There is a pier that juts out a few hundred feet into the lake and off of that is access to the beach. The beach is very nice. It gets excellent sun throughout the day for sun-bathers, and the waters aren't too deep. It is also one of the cleanest beaches I have been to in this area along the coast. The boat ramps are on the far left side of the park, which blocks most of the noise. One could easily have a lovely time...
Read moreClean and nice people work there who are always willing to answer questions about the fishing (if they know it). Putting your boat in is very inexpensive ($5) considering other lakes around the country charge $10-18/day launch fees. St. Clair Metropark in Michigan is $10 per vehicle so $20 to launch your boat there. Big parking lot so you’ll always get a spot. Lots of trees to get out of the sun and a concession/convenience store to get ice is on site. They should be very proud of what they offer as I’ve fished lots of lakes around the US and this park is one of the...
