Read moreI really enjoyed coming here while I was on vacation here in the DMV area from late May to mid-August. Ever since I got my first DSLR camera, I wanted to look for a dog park to go to, and this was my first choice. There's so many dogs here and 99% are super friendly! Every time I came here, I would bring my camera and some doggy treats so that I can get some great shots of the dogs. Lol but when I try to get the attention of one dog, I have like five dogs running up to me. I love how there's a smaller, fenced in part of the park for the smaller dogs. And the river is great too! I heard that the water is dirty or something, but the dogs really enjoy playing in the water. A few fights have erupted here and there, but I wouldn't say that it's a major problem. Some owners don't pick up their dog's poop, and that can be a problem for many who don't want poop on their shoes. One thing I wish this park could change is the pathway to the river towards the back entrance of the park, the one that's by the storage place. I found it quite difficult to walk down to the river and to walk back up. There should be some type of stairs there to make the decent much easier for the owners when they want to walk down to the river. The pathway to the river towards the front entrance is much easier to descend upon. I really like how the stairs are made of stone. Although they are kinda steep, it still makes it easier to walk down and up. I can't wait to return to this...
Read moreBeautiful, well-maintained, fenced-in, large and small, dog parks. There is a beautiful trail winding through the larger dog area and there are multiple access gates between the two separate areas. Everyone I have interacted with has been very friendly. Great community so far. There are benches and picnic tables within both areas, as well as fresh water and bowls provided. There are plenty of trees, as well as a creek running along the edge of the fenced-in large dog area. Feels like you're in a little forest, a secret escape, hidden next to tall buildings and other downtown city features. There's also a lovely, long paved trail outside of the park, leading to sports fields, plain grassy fields, a baseball field, basketball courts, and a pretty big children's playground. The public restrooms are nicely maintained. They are hard to find as they are located past the bridge on the right and the baseball field on the left, between the field and the playground - outside of the dog parks. It's a permanent structure, looks like a modern square building. Love the bright blue indoor dog park and bar, with live music, and second floor balcony, right next door to the outdoor dog parks. Overall great outdoor and social areas. Perfect place to bring your doggies. The only thing that sucks is the parking. There isn't much parking, right next to the dog parks, and it's only 2hr or paid parking. There is more parking, elsewhere alongside the rest of...
