I have brought my son here a few times and we love it. Today however the woman in the red sweater working the register was unbelievably rude, kept making snippy comments. They were rude and not needed. Hopefully it was an off moment for her and she does not treat customers that way normally. Really made me want to turn around as were here for extra fun not snotty people with a power complex. Honestly not sure if its worth the $6 per person, especially when treated that way. Thankfully the woman that was putting toys away was very sweet. This is supposed to be a pleasant place to go but that woman at the register made it very difficult to go in with a positive mindset.
Edited to respond to the "owner review" I had no issue paying admission for myself nor did I want to leave my child unattended, I inquired as to if it was possible to let him play and observe as I had buried my grandmother that day and was trying to find somewhere to let him play while I tried to breathe. I highly suggest you show your customers a llittle more grace instead of being rude and making assumptions. I have brought my son here before and have never once left him alone nor had an issue with paying for admission. Your response shows zero empathy for anyone that simply inquires as to if they can just be there and let their child play. If this is the attitude that is received for a simple question, management is much worse than initially thought. You cannot even take criticism. I do not believe any child should be left unattended nor do I have an issue with paying for admission my question to the receptionist was if I could observe when I was met with a very rude remark about needing to play with my son. I am a full time mom and student and on top of burying my grandma that day, I just needed a second to breathe. Instead of feeling like I could let my child safely engage and allow myself a moment to do that I was met with disrespect...
Read moreI took my granddaughter here on 9/19/2020, there were clearly marked signs stating everyone must wear a mask, they had free disposable children's masks available. I paid our $6.00 per person entrance fee. There was a family consisting of a father and four children in the museum, none were wearing masks, the oldest child (apx 10 or 11) was taking everything from the grocery store and bringing it into the barn structure. When my granddaughter went in to use the slide I heard this older child telling my granddaughter not to touch any of the toys since the toys belonged to them. I instructed my granddaughter to stay away from anyone without a mask. The father sat on his phone ignoring his children as they ran through the museum making messes everywhere and not putting anything away. Not one of those children used hand sanitizer, which was available throughout the museum. One boy kept coming up to my granddaughter and hitting her with a toy, I told him to please stay away from us, his father did nothing. The father made a large mess in the painting area and just walked away from it. One of the volunteers at the front desk walked through the museum and said nothing about masks to this family. Other people came in, adhering to the mask mandate, most left soon after arriving. We cut our visit short after it became obvious this father would do nothing about his children's behavior and would not put on masks. To top it off, the oldest of these children removed their socks and shoes and proceeded to run around. These children were also damaging toys and displays. When we left, I complained to the people at the desk about no masks and the barefoot child. A further comment, I do not believe there is any way for this place to be sanitized properly during the pandemic. This was our first time visiting the museum and it will be the last until the...
Read moreThis place is huge with many different activities for the kids including an infant/toddler area and a side room for parents to be able to get away from the noise during those toddler meltdowns! I gave 4 stars because two things stood out to me quite a bit. One being, this place is DIRTY. I understand it’s a large place, toys are played with all day, but I’m talking DIRTY. The floors were so gross, I sat on the floor with my toddler and our leggings were covered in grossness. A play baby my toddler grabbed was covered in dirt and grime to the point hand sanitizer took a layer off. I definitely think due to illnesses and all the goods, infection prevention and cleanliness would be huge for a children’s place. The second reason for four stars would be they don’t really offer military families much of a discount. Most if not all childrens museums we have been to offer free or close to free admission for military families as we are going almost daily to keep our little ones occupied and stimulated. It’d be great if they could offer something like that! $6 admission for 2 adults and 1 child is quite expensive especially on a daily basis. Iykyk. Our favorite children’s museum by far is Stevens Point, super clean, fun, and offers free admission...
