Willow Creek Community Church South Barrington — Attraction in Barrington Township

Willow creek community church in South Barrington: NOT a place of WORSHIP!!! The obvious money changers in this place is a disgrace to our lord. My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. IF you want jazz hands service, big screen tv's and a glitzy band, come here. Stay away if you want to worship our lord, for the trappings are all around this place. The spirit of religion (religious spirit)(look it up if you are not familiar with this) lives in this place!!! LUKE 12:8 "I tell you, whoever publicly acknowledges me before others, the Son of Man will also acknowledge before the angels of God. ASK them why there is no cross anywhere upon or in this place, the world wide sign of jesus. They will give you the wrong answer!!! We want to be accepting to everyone. So they have chosen to insult god himself with this action!!! Now, if they want to rename themselves, willow creek community center, instead of willow creek community church, then all is good. Do not pretend to love my son under the cloak of disguise!!! You will not find this in the bible, and it is written here to give the righteous an obvious area to attack this writing, and even in telling them how obvious it is, they will attack this line!!! In closing, this is a big box community center. If you want coffee and trinkets, this is the place to be. If you are seeking god, go elsewhere!!! christopher barton p.s. This place has purpose for sure, its community outreach is fantastic, its teachings of how to live your life as a good person is great, its feel good messages are well good, and if you want a feel good church this is the place, willows has lost its way in the lords eyes.

Should the congregation demand that all the elders step down after they revealed that they were hiding the truth from them? They even choose to disregard mr. hybels sexual misconduct allegations and tried to discredit the accusers. His behavior has been going on for 20 years, and now they call it inappropriate choices instead of sexual misconduct!!!

"I" feel this church will continue to fail until the congregation stands up and has a loud voice!!!

Added more: well seems my added review was before the latest action of the elders stepping down. This is a good move for this church. Now lets ask the "congregation" if the god given sign of jesus christ, a CROSS, should be erected at the front doors of this church.

Willow creek church only cares how big you pocket is. When you have issues in the church the pastors leave it up too the group to handle the issue and the pastors won't step in.

I have high functioning autism and I signed up for the root program to become a leader at willow creek church in south Barrington Illinois. I was discriminated against because of false rumors that I felt the need to defend myself even though I shouldn't have too.

I was kicked out of the program before it even started. I'm a believer and follower of Jesus Christ.

The leader of the program Said we can't talk about people in the group ( which means we can't gossip, which i don't have a reason to gossip about anyone. Not only is it against the Bible for gossip i wouldn't do it to my worse enemy) and we have to sign a nda to protect all members in willow creek church group. So what they did is kick me out so they could gossip about me. The church has been spreading false rumors about me for 5 year. I confronted them about the rumors. Don't go to willow creek church when you have a issue in the group and the leaders of the group don't do anything about the issue not even the pastor won't do anything about the issue.

They still gossip and spread false rumors about me till this very day.

Don't trust there leadership.

The church has been loosing over 10 million dollars a year in lost money because this is god showing what happens when you lead people Astray.

Update which will be nothing because they called and I spoke to them with my client and David was zero help and was so argumentative I was a little in shock basically if you are don't know someone here that is higher up or need help with anything outside of some food that I am most certain they would not eat and I am one to say please don't provide food to anyone that you yourself would not eat r that has mold on it. Anyways they only help if you know someone or if you are what they consider a member that pretty much does whatever the church wants and they do not help outsiders even within the community : I really don't like writing a harsh review about a church especially one that I had hopes in. I am a caseworker and went with the family I work with here to get assistance. The family is a member of the church however ask if I could go to just explain stuff the mother has a difficult time doing that. We met with the Case Team they call them and the one we met with was not what I expected from a care team. She instantly shut down what we were asking for and pushed food and backpacks on this family. She appeared agitated when I continued to ask for resources for a mechanic or how one could get assistance with that . Then when ask about the car program she said "No long wait list and you can't" . I was like well what if she wants to be on that waitlist she said she can't no explanation not anything until I continued to ask. She basically just wanted to shove food on this family to appear they are helping. I thought about attending this church however with people like that helping UMMM Hard No Thank you. Then when she finally came back with a resource for what we came there for it was the first one that comes up when you google what this family needed and its not even legit so she should not be providing people who need help with something that will scam them .
