
I've been a member for more than 2 years and this place has really gone downhill.
It's not bad in the morning when the ladies are working at the desk. They keep everything clean and make sure to do what they can to keep the place functioning. The guys in the afternoon and evening sit on their phones. They don't refill the paper towel dispensers or toilet tissue in the bathroom.
So many of the machines are broken. When I asked why they weren't getting the machines fixed they claimed that there is only one technician who services all of NJ.
At the end of June they closed for a couple of days for a supposed remodel and said that they would be making more space in the area where people stretch. They told the members that they could visit a club in Staten Island. Who the hell is going to pay to go over the bridge. Why couldn't they work out a deal with the Jersey City location? That one has tons more room but you can't go there unless you're a black card member.
Honestly, they didn't accomplish much with the remodel. The only thing that's pretty good is that they have some new treadmills. I find it annoying that they close early on the weekends. There's a lot of weekend to evenings when I would like to work out after doing all the household chores.
I visit a lot of other locations and I see a real difference in the ones where the franchise owners are on site. I know that every Planet Fitness has the free summer program for high school students, but in places where the rules are enforced it is much more manageable. This place is not it.

You will get punished for bad protocols from management. I have been trying to resolve an incident with Michael manager at this location.i have been banned for the following reasons for Michael following me to the bathroom/when I already resolved the issue with Deboran over the counter.
Michael was dismissive, intrusive and had poor customer services skills. You have to respect people's privacy! Your customers privacy.
So If you like to be followed and narrated even when your membership has been paid ...join this club!
Is not my fault Planet fitness system doesn't speak to each other. Why should a customer be pain 19 99 national wide when you can't even enjoy the full benefits of your membership.
Justin who's to call back explains that I'f Michael doesn't feel comfortable it's up to management. This is my response to the club and corporate.
Do you feel comfortable been harrased and followed? Michael admitted to myself that he didn't know the details of my conversations with Debiorah at the counter, I even had to removed myself after I asked to give me the space and that wasn't the place to be discussing membership details ...
So be ready to be ask for your membership at toilet lady's and gents ...

I was interested in Planet Fitness and I had briefly been.a member and heard great things of new added amenities for black card members. On my arrival a very cordial and well met ypung man named appropriately Matt greeted me. All the members reallly seem to like Matt alot and although very busy Matt was more than willing to talk to me and walk me through app. I struggled to get the app to work and as my frustration began to heighten Matt asked how long do you plan to workout!! I laughed because I have ADHD all my life and tend to workout til i can sleep. Matt said i can see frustrated why dont you go workout come back when you expend some of your energy and we can try again. This location is expansive well kept and orderly. I was really having a great time until walking past the front desk as Matt had left were three women working. I stopped and told them I was interested to sign up and they seemed confused and hyper focused on what Matt had done selling me two towels! I tried again to pay for a membership.
