Baytown Historical Museum — Attraction in Baytown

The children and I went yesterday and the lady Mrs Terry told us the were having a meeting and we had to come back tomorrow.. it was 12:45 when we got there so I wasn't understanding why we needed to leave when the time to close was 2pm. When I asked her her name and the time it closed she said we could look around the front. When the meeting was over we went the back section but she kept coming to use saying they were having a meeting when the meeting was over.. it was an awful experience for the children and I they kept looking and talking about us . They wanted us to leave so they leave early that's what it seemed like. I didn't understand they should have meeting before it opens or after it closes and not just try to send u away. My son and daughter was very disappointed and was I when she kept lying to get rid of us. So they could close early. I even said can we just look the meeting is over they are leaving and standing around talking.. the museum has nice pieces for education. The children don't want to go back but I do because I feel like we were being harassed to leave and we really couldn't enjoy the place. Just know if they have a meeting they might lock the doors or put a sign to keep people...

The door was open, and we walked in, starting to look around when a lady greates us and said the museum was closed due to a meeting. No signs posted and door open. However, the museum had lots of history! I explained that we were traveling to see museums, and if you are not open, post it. Some people like us drive hours to read about the history.
