Pineapple Xpress Chinese Cafe — Restaurant in Baytown

I stopped in on Friday and ordered some 3 different types sushi and a combination plate. Waited for my food and they told me it was ready. I grabbed my bags and left. After getting home with my food I was missing my combination. I called them and a female answered the phone, I told her I was missing my combination and she gave the phone over to a man who said “oh yes, it’s right here”. I returned to retrieve my missing food thru the drive thru as there was no one in line. The female opened the window and I explained that I was there for my missing combination. She rolled her eyes at me and said “it will be awhile, the kitchen is closed.” I looked at her is shock and told her I just called and the man said it was right there. She then told me “Don’t give her attitude it’s not her fault” I then told her I just drove all the way back for this food and she doesn’t even know anything after I just spoke with her on the phone. She slammed the window and spoke to the man who pointed at the food. She grabbed it and came to hand it to me at the window. I then told her she needs to know what the hell is going on before she opens HER mouth with ATTITUDE. She got more upset and told me to get out the hell out of there an just leave. I then cussed at her and left. I’m sorry but first of all they made the mistake and secondly to get mad at the customer for it is crazy! Thirdly the man who seemed like the manager just stood behind this female and alloyed her to yell and cuss at me, so unprofessional! Never will I support this...

Okay, I do few food reviews on restaurants through Google and I had to tske some time for this establishment.

First off, I've had their Lo Mein, Fried rice, sushi and Boba tea. All of these hit the mark on both price and quality. Lo Mein wasn't over cooked and wasn't undercooked both times I had them, the meat and veggies complimented the dish very well. Sushi was fresh, rice was cooked well and the ingredients were all delicious. Nothing felt artifical. Boba tea was also very well made. No complaints.

I've had the fried rice 3 times now, and as much as I want to have total praise, I have to give some sort of constructive feedback.

The rice itself is always hot and tastes okay, I feel like it could use a little more flavor from the Soy sauce and/or seasoning but I know that's a personal preference. The beef is very good, it's well done, albiet a bit dry (but that can happen in these types of dishes), the chicken also suffers the same fate. Hot but dry and a small lack of seasoning.

The shrimp however, doesn't have that fate, it tastes flavorful and fresh. I still recommend the Fried Rice, it's good but it fell a little short in comparison to the other dishes I had there (Sushi and Lo Mein).

Overall: Wonderful establishment. The staff are friendly and hard working. Very refreshing. It's clean but you can tell it's a working man's diner (not a bad thing at all), the food is above the price you pay, so for a decent price you'll receive a good meal. Love the taste of this restaurant, I ordered the chicken brocoli and I loved that they always do the food fresh is not like sitting there the whole day. I also ordered taro smoothie the best one for me when they serve it is purple in the pictures they have in the menu is yellow but order this one is good. We also ordered the chicken fried rice the plates are big so expect to get some leftovers 😋. The chicken noodles soup that I ordered was to go and when I got home I saw that they also put shrimp in the plate so beware that if you don't like shrimp let them know not to put it on otherwise you will get the surprise of it on the plate. If you are on the area make sure to visit the place is definitely one of the restaurants you don't want to miss. They do have dine in option even though is not to big to gather many people you can still have a chance to have a table to eat there since most of the people order to go.
