Honestly one of the best experiences you can get. I'm really not a person to write a review, but after coming back here for my second trip, I had to write one. My dream as a little kid growing up watching Jurassic Park, was to become a paleontologist one day. Which unfortunately did not happen as my life went along...but I found the dig tour with Paleoadventure! It truly was my dream come true in every aspect, I can never forget the feeling I felt when I dug up my first ever fossil. Someone had told me that every fossil is unique, and its a privilege to set eye on it after 70 million years. It truly is! I would recommend to anyone who loves dinosaurs(like me), loves outdoor adventures, or even want to try something new. This year our group had some amazing finds, I found a small but shiny Nanotyrannus tooth fossil, and my friend next to me found a gigantic tooth fossil!! And we stayed at berm house near dig site, which added to uniqueness of the trip. Growing up and living in Metropolitan cities in my entire life, you don't get to see cows grazing grass when you open the front door in the morning. The house itself is beautifully decorated, you can feel the love and details that went into the design and interiors of the house. I can go on all day writing review about this dig tour. I would highly recommend the trip, and although I just came back from one, I'm already looking forward to next year's trip. Thank you Walter and the team for such a great experience. You are...
Read moreOBSESSED with Walter, Ethan, Will, AD, Dave and the gang…what an experience!!! What a TRUE ADVENTURE!! I didn’t “accidentally” find them I sought them out. I wanted an authentic experience. I wanted to know - and wanted my kids (10 & 12) to know what it was like to be a scientist in this field. And to REALLY uncover (or not) real fossils. AND WE DID!!! Omg. (It was work, and it was like 104 🥵) But I looked at other competing sites and thought them too crowded and touristy. And then I found PA. They are a professional and an accredited dig site - ongoing. (Find Leonard!!!)
My son even unearthed a scientific-grade tooth that was recorded with his name and everything else. And he got to keep it!
The event was 3-days and included amazing science lessons, guided digging, and labs - I’m even more obsessed with dinosaurs than ever before. If you want the chance to discover something new - in fossils or in yourself - this is it! I’ll be back. Hopefully I (personally) will uncover more than a partial prehistoric turtle bone and a tooth belonging to one of the common lizards in the area of that time,...
Read moreI had an incredible experience on my first dinosaur dig in the badlands with Walter, Heather, and David! I learned a lot about dinosaurs and paleontology that I never knew. Everyone in the group found fossils, including some that were so important they must be kept for science! Our group found teeth, pieces of tendon, a fibula bone, a crocodile tooth, a jawbone, a skull fragment, scales, turtle shell, a four inch T-Rex tooth, and much more. We were all allowed to take the common fossils home with us. Talk about a unique souvenir from millions of years ago!! The guides are all extremely nice people, and they do everything they can to make it a memorable and fun experience for everyone. They brought extra water, wipes, TP, canopies to block the sun, and all the tools and glue and buckets we needed for the excavation. We also stopped at a gas station on the way there and on the way back, both days, so we were fully prepared as far as opportunities to get snacks, water, and bathroom. I would highly recommend this to everyone who wants a great bucket...
