In 2017 we hired Roxy Glass to replace our patio door. We paid Roxy Glass $2200-2400 to buy and install this patio door.
They did a very poor job. We will never hire them again.
Now we have to hire another company to fix the problems with the installation. Because they cut too much from the wall this door they just installed is now too small. This means that we will likely have to replace this newly installed patio door with another door which is a little bigger.
Most of the people from Roxy Glass do not speak English very well which can lead to confusion and poor work results.
These are some of the issues with the door installation: They ordered the door even though I did not tell them to do it. In the end I finally agreed to that door.
The first time the came they ignored our opinion and the damage was done. They cut too much from the wall surrounding the door.
Because they cut too much from the wall the door threshold is now 2" tall. It used to be 1" tall. Initially they installed a very poor quality plastic threshold and only because of our protests they installed a new wooden threshold.
After door installation there are gaps (from 0.25" to 0.5") between the door and the panels around it (top panel, left and right). There are also gaps between the 2 door panels.
They did not add the trim around the door as we used to have with the original door. After we protested they added a trim but they installed it wrong. On second try they finally added the trim in the correct position around the door.
They had to come 4 times on 4 different days to finish their work.
The way it is installed the door looks very ugly...
Read moreWe had them install a glass door for our guest bathroom bathtub. The staff are great, friendly, and willing to help you out as much as possible. That said, they appeared to be quite unorganized. We had to have two measurement appointments (which wasn't really their fault, because I'd initially told them that we were going with another company, and then changed my mind. In the meanwhile, they got rid of our measurements). However, we even needed 2 installation appointments (and we almost needed a third)!
The first time they came out, they realized that they couldn't install it as configured because the door wouldn't work for our space as designed (which was not something they noticed on either measure appointment). Anyway, they came back with a different glass in about a week and installed it well. They seemed to be confused as they thought they left a piece behind on the first appointment that they needed (which they didn't) and had to have someone from their office deliver it.
End result was well done work, but we had to deal with some confused/unorganized people. I would recommend them if you're not in a hurry to get the work done, and if you're a patient person.
Also, they even refused to give us a 'receipt' for our payment which we thought was a bit odd, but we've got other 'proofs' of payment,...
Read moreCheap price, cheap quality. While glass railing went well, the window glass replacement (5 sets) was poorly done, as if they just tried to jam in the glasses. The finish work was conspicuously sloppy as you can see from the photos - the trim corners were glued together by lumps of caulking. 1 piece of trim came off already just 2 months after the glass work.
Business practice wasn't fair either. They billed me $40 for extra set of smaller panels, but never gave me the glasses. When I chose to forgo the installation of the 3 new vinyl windows ordered through Roxy, they only credited me 1/3 of total for window installation labor, even though in the price the labor component was well beyond 50% of the total.
The conversation with the owner was contentious and unpleasant. I was rather frustrated and chose to not pursue the $40 extra charge or ask for more than 1/3 for labor refund. Additionally, my confidence in quality - be material or workmanship - dropped so much that I gave away the 3 new vinyl windows than trying to find someone else to install something that could become a bigger problem.
However, the glass railing they put in, was nice. They just aren't skilled in...
