Crate Escape — Attraction in Belmont

I’ve been sending my pups to Crate Escape since 2017 and cannot recommend them enough! I have utilized them for daycare, boarding and training and appreciate the obvious love they have for all of the dogs, as well as the wonderful communication, professionalism and friendliness provided by their staff. Over the years there have been countless instances of the staff demonstrating thoughtfulness and kindness for both me and my dog that extends well beyond just good customer service. Crate Escape employs best practices when it comes to safety and cleanliness and I trust that they provide appropriate training for their staff. My dog experiences stranger danger but has fallen in love with the Crate Escape staff; they have opened a whole world for her by giving her love and building her confidence. She is 11 years old but acts like an excited puppy when you tell her she is “going to see friends.” In addition to physical exercise and socialization, the mental stimulation they provide as part of the High Spirited Hounds program is so beneficial and unique. I took my dog to Crate Escape for a daycare trial, and told the staff that he sometimes gets nervous around larger dogs and would do much better with the smaller dogs. I was told both in person and over the phone that dogs can be placed in the group setting that works best for them. I was very clear about what would be best for my dog, daycare staff, and other dogs immediately before the trial and over the phone. They took my dog into the daycare room, gave him about 5 minutes (absolute maximum) and brought him out and said that he was too fearful of the bigger dogs (just as I had relayed to the staff).

I understand that they do not need my business, so why spend the effort on a fearful dog, but I was very clear about the environment that would work for him, and they told me they would be happy to accommodate. I was told he could come back after more socialization, but I just cannot in good faith bring my dog somewhere where his needs (which were relayed clearly) are so blatantly ignored. Crate Escape is the most amazing place. My dogs absolutely love going there. The staff is so kind and treats my dogs really well. I know that if I need to go out of town, my dogs will be safe and well taken care of at Crate Escape. Crate Escape has helped me incredibly while I’ve been working from home, and when I had a family emergency, they were kind enough to let my dogs board for an extended amount of time. I honestly don’t know what I would do without them. Many years ago now, my dog Pilot was a very energetic yellow lab puppy who would destroy my apartment in the way puppies do. Everything was chewed on. After Pilot started going to Crate Escape, she started being way less destructive and sleeping through the night which was a blessing. Now, Pilot has a boxer mix sister named Twix. Twix absolutely loves Crate Escape sometimes to the point where she will sit at the gate and refuse to go home.
