Kaiyo sushi — Restaurant in Belmont

Seems like my experience isn't what most people have experienced so tonight may have been tbe exception not tbe rule. I ordered a monster roll that arrived warm and the roll was falling apart. The scallion pancakes were overcooked and crumbled in the container. The gyoza were also overcooked and the sauce was VERY salty. Not my thing. Lastly the vegetable udon noodles were just bland and the peppers were still crunchy. Very weird flavor and very bland. Not a typical udon and the onion, green and red peppers were the only veggies except a couple pieces of yellow, mushy bok choy (hard to tell). It seems like this place is typically very good but tonight was not that. Sadly, $75 delivery...

Tried out Kaiyo after learning that there are new owners/restaurant - was pleasantly surprised at the quality considering the reasonable prices! I eat sushi maybe 1-2x per week so have tried many places and Kaiyo is definitely going to start being one of my go-tos! The sashimi was fresh and portion sizes generous. Sushi was well made. I got the sashimi and sushi lunch and the miso soup was great as well, not watery like some places can be. Excited to keep trying more...

My absolute the best sushi place ever. Every time sushi form here are so tasty, fresh and just amazing. I can't speak more highly about this place.

Last week I had my worst experience ever at some other place (not Kaiyo!), so I decided to rate my fav place. I order sushi here every couple weeks. Also they did my birthday sushi order - absolute success! I loved it, and had received so many compliments about it.
