Park-McCullough, Historic Governor's Mansion — Attraction in Bennington

It was a delightful experience. So much value for so little money. The trails outside go beyond just what is mapped. It was very nice to see so many happy people and families enjoying the property - including some aged golden retrievers we met with hearts that make gold appear dull. I would suggest donating if you have the means. The craftsmanship within the home is extraordinary. It’s the expression of a mind that is classically trained before the advent of the tavistock institute and the systematic dumbing down of the human race. The executive director was exceedingly nice and portrayed the rich history of the house with humor and grace. I would recommend this tour to anybody...

Beautifully maintained historic home on a lovely property that includes a renovated barn and wonderful views of the countryside. It's located right next to the mile around woods trail, a popular walking spot with pet parents (and human parents alike, as the trail is stroller accessible for the most part). There are frequent outdoor events when the season permits, including local artisan markets and live music. Beautiful grounds. Trash can and dog waste can for garbage is a big plus. Beautiful open garden area in the front yard. Looks great in the fall, but I suspect it'll look even better in early summer!

Note: there are several private homes next to the place, so be careful not to walk on anyone's lawn.

There is also supposed to be a walking trail nearby the place, but I did not see it while wondering the property. Did not see signs for it either. I'm sure you can find it, but it didn't appear to be directly connected...
