I have been to a lot of museums across the west. New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Texas. I have belonged to two historical preservation societies and have done historical restoration and preservation. This museum is not only filled with amazing artifacts from this amazing area, but it has the most incredible group of volunteers. I spent two hours visiting walking around asking questions and I can tell you that these people have a lot of heart, common sense drive and determination to make this little museum, the gem that it truly is . I can tell you in 30 years-ish of doing this kind of work and volunteering that they have it the way it’s supposed to be done. It is based on community commitment open honest direct and complete transparency as 501 nonprofits are supposed to be. I spent the most enjoyable several hours with the new Director, who is not only incredibly talented, dedicated and knows what she’s doing, truly breath of fresh air in the historical and preservation community. The volunteers absolutely wonderful down-to-earth and very inviting and friendly. Living in tombstone, I will be back again to visit thank you for an extremely charming afternoon☺️ oh, and I would definitely suggest everyone come by and stop this amazing museum and it’s incredible. Restoration renovation and amazing work...

This museum is privately run and NOT by the city of Benson. Open 3 days a week until they can get more volunteers...
