Fun place. I would recommend this place for hiking, biking, & kayaking or if ur just cruising about. Just don't go after it has been raining because the ground is largely right at sea level, so when there has been significant rainfall, the ground can be super saturated in sections and a down right muddy mess that nobody should cruise through!!!
There is also a children's playground at one end of the park for those with children and it appears to be pretty entertaining for parents as well as their offspring;)
The park also has picnic tables I believe at both ends of the park near the parking areas at each park entrance as well as restrooms on the park entrance closer to Univerity St.
The entire park from start to finish is most certainly DOG friendly and a popular weekend outing or after work spot for Dog owners and their...
Read moreI love to pick up lunch and eat under a shade tree while I watch the water fowl. There is a very cool play ground with activities that make me wish I was a kid again. The kids love the ducks. There is several large lawns that are great for picnics or playing ball. The frisbee golf course is popular and extensive. Sometimes you can get shaded parking that is perfect for a quick nap at lunch or during the evening commute. The birds are very cool and there are many species. Stop by and visit the animal shelter which is right by the Addison street pedestrian bridge that accesses the waterfront trails in the East Bay state park. Voul enteer dog walkers parade happy and adoptable pups from the shelter. There is boat rental, a cafe and a discount used bike shop. Kids love this place. Great for...
Read moreThis park is a hidden gem! I loved it. My kids loved it. Even my toddler loved it! We enjoyed playing hide and seek through all of the structures. It's a great park with swings, slides, and a hang glider, tire swings, and stairs. There's a beautiful garden and a picnic area to eat. There's a huge grassy field to play football, soccer, or just to run around. The restroom is very CLEAN. I was surprised actually, most outdoor restrooms aren't so sanitary. There's also a good drinking water fountain. It's right on the waterfront. Very relaxing to watch the water. Safe to stand and walk around. I believe there's a way to boat around but I'm not sure which of the few businesses on the front offer that. There's a bike shop on the way in, that sells...
